We were delighted to host Professor Dame Angela McLean, Chief Scientific Advisor to the Government, and Professor Chris Johnson, Chief Scientific Advisor to the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT), at IAAPS last week. The delegation met with Professor Sarah Hainsworth OBE FREng, IAAPS Executive Director Chris Brace and MD Rob Oliver and discussed the vital role of collaboration between industry, academia and government in the development and advancement of sustainable technologies. From taking a "virtual spin" in a driving simulator provided by our partners Ansible Motion to exploring our work in green hydrogen R&I and discussing projects such as H2GEAR with GKN Aerospace, the visit shone a light on IAAPS' commitment to delivering impactful, real-world solutions. As Professor McLean put it: “It’s terrific to see fantastic intellectual capital from universities and industry coming together in one place.” Read more on the link https://lnkd.in/eU978EXa #SustainableMobility #NetZero #Innovation #Collaboration

We're proud to be involved in this project and great to see our work on decarbonising the maritime sector with PurpleSector and partners being recognised.
#shipbuildingshoutout ✅ Decarbonising the shipbuilding and wider maritime sector is a priority for the National Shipbuilding Office and key to achieving Net Zero in the UK and as an industry. ℹ️ Supported by government, many UK companies are maximising growth opportunities presented by the global decarbonisation trends across maritime, including PurpleSector. 👏 After winning the third round of Innovate UK and Department for Transport (DfT), United Kingdom Clean Maritime Demonstration Competition in March 2023, with their Clean Hybrid Alternative Marine Powertrain (CHAMP) bid, they rapidly developed a sustainably fuelled electric hybrid powertrain: a clean, green solution engineered to meet real and typical marine duty requirements. 💻 Using PurpleSector’s Formula 1™-derived advanced data acquisition techniques, a consortium of marine experts has been working together to gain critical insights into fleet requirements, journey planning and vessel tasking with the aim of optimising for a more sustainable future. Partners include the RNLI, Serco, Cowes Harbour Commission, Princess Yachts, Solis Marine, IAAPS and South Devon College and this video captures their ambition. https://lnkd.in/etEjXSCW When the project ends in March 2025, PurpleSector will be publishing their recommendations for how the marine industry can steer towards a more sustainable future on www.purplesector.tech #greenmaritime #netzero #innovation #purplesector #decarbonisation #shipbuilding
