Celebrating the brightest stars of the Global #OffshoreWind industry at #RUKAwards24 in London - including our own supply chain lead, Kirsty Adams for well deserved 'Future Leader' award! 👏 Kirsty's work continues to drive local supply chain growth, ensuring Scotland’s offshore wind projects stay at the forefront of the UK's net-zero ambition. Most notably, Kirsty is the Industry Chair of The Offshore Wind Industry Council’s (OWIC) Supply Chain and Clusters Workstream, which works to ensure a robust supply chain for the ongoing deployment of offshore wind, liaising closely with government to ensure industry representation in legislation development. Also encouraging to hear Ed Miliband, Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero, praising offshore wind's success to date and highlighting the wave of government support for an industry that is 'central' to government's 2030 clean energy targets. And as proud sponsors of the event, Susie Lind presented the award for Environment & Sustainability to EDF Renewables UK & Ireland for its Collaborative Reef Cube installation, to enhance marine biodiversity. 💚 These awards celebrate the very best in leadership, talent, innovation, environmental stewardship, and world-leading health & safety performance from across our global industry. Congratulations to all the winners on the night! 🏆 #RUKGOWA24 RenewableUK BlueFloat Energy | Nadara

Having recently attended the WindEurope End of Life Issues and Strategies conference in Gothenburg last week, on reflection, it's clear that driving forward circular approaches within late life decision making will be imperative for the industry to remain steadfast in our commitments to sustainability through innovation across the entire project lifecycle. This, to me, is of particular significance today given the publication of the Clean Power 2030 Action Plan, which sets out significant ambition for the UK's energy transition this decade. Stand out insights from #EoLIS this year: - The European onshore repowering experience: 276 onshore wind projects have been repowered to date, averaging a 4 fold increase in capacity but with 25% less WTGs. - Innovative asset integrity monitoring techniques will play an ever increasingly important role in approaches to prospective lifetime extension. - Scenarios for Belgium’s offshore wind repowering ambitions are being explored - investigating economic viability, technical synergies and legal challenges. - Scaling up of circular onshore material processing solutions requires transparency, unlocking of policy barriers and, to an extent, certainty - all of which will be underpinned by effective cross-industry collaboration. Such a pleasure to have attended with fellow colleagues Paul Matthew Kirk Alison Williams Johan Schoonhoven Daniel Kamyno Rasmussen Charlotte Boesen Gundula Fischer

Happy World Maritime Day 2024. #WorldMaritimeDay, established by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) in 1978, raises awareness of shipping safety, maritime security, and protecting the marine environment. Today, it's crucial to reflect on the growing role of #OffshoreWind Energy, especially Poland's ambition to become a leader in this industry. Poland’s Baltic coastline offers immense potential for offshore wind, a key part of its Energy Transition Strategy. Offshore wind development in Polish waters is divided into two phases: 1️⃣ Phase 1 (by 2030): Poland aims to install 5.9 GW of offshore wind capacity. These projects, backed by significant investments, will help meet Poland’s energy needs and reduce reliance on fossil fuels. 2️⃣ Phase 2 (2030-2040): The second phase targets around 9.5 GW of additional capacity. 💡 Total Potential: The Polish Baltic Sea could support up to 30 GW of offshore wind by 2050. However, reaching this potential requires changes to the maritime spatial plan to allow for more efficient sea space use and project development. Across the Baltic Sea region, with 93 GW of offshore wind capacity projected by 2050, Poland is positioning itself as a key player. Key highlights from Poland’s #offshore wind sector: 🔹 Significant Investment: Poland’s offshore wind sector is attracting multi-billion-dollar investments in infrastructure, ports, and supply chains, ensuring long-term growth. 🔹 Local Expertise: From location and strategic advisory to permitting consultancy, Poland is building the expertise to navigate complex regulations, helping guide projects from inception through to approval. 🔹 Environmental Responsibility: Offshore wind, when aligned with stringent environmental assessments, can coexist with marine ecosystems, advancing clean energy while protecting biodiversity. As we celebrate #WMD2024, we acknowledge the crucial role of offshore wind energy in transforming Poland's energy landscape. Let’s continue leading the way in building a sustainable future for our oceans and communities. #WorldMaritimeDay #Sustainability #PolandOffshoreWind #EnergyTransition #RenewableEnergy #Ambiens #OffshoreWindPotential #IMO #CleanEnergy #BalticWind #PermittingConsultancy

Very happy to have received an invitation to attend the North Sea Hub “Renewable Dialogue” at the Hannover convention centre on April 23 between Germany and Norway. The opportunity to see how strong the cooperation between Norway (Country partner of #HannoverMesse2024) and Germany is to build up a proper decarbonised electricity sector in North Europe. The 2 countries are key trading partners and have entered a strategic partnership on climate, renewable energy and green industry to cooperate even closer in the #greentransition As already informed in a post after my participation during 3 days in the “Windenergietage” in Potsdam last November, the investments in the North of Germany and Europe will keep increasing significantly in the next 5 years. #Wind projects and #Hydrogen clusters close to port areas will modify industrial interdependencies in Germany, but also in Europe. #Norway will be a key actor, not only for Germany but also for Europe, in the energy transition field. Norway is fully integrated into the European internal market through the EEA Agreement, making trade and investment flow seamlessly between Norway, Germany and the rest of the European Union. Last week in Hannover, Norway emphasized its ambitions for the transition to a low-carbon society and key role in developing solutions within sectors such as renewable energy, carbon-neutral production, and application of green and digital solutions – all necessary to transform the industry and reach net-zero. Besides partnership, we do observe pragmatism in the move. Why? Both countries aim to scale up renewable energy production quickly (Norway joined the Ostende declaration in 2023 – 9 countries set offshore wind targets of about 120 GW by 2030 and 300 GW by 2050 in the North Seas), a prerequisite for the production of green hydrogen. But in parallel, to realize the fastest possible high-volumes of hydrogen with zero or low emissions, the 2 countries will jointly plan to use hydrogen produced from natural gas with Carbon Capture and Storage (blue hydrogen) for a transition period, establishing the highest possible standards for CCS. #norwayhm24 #strongertogether #europe #francoallemand #partnerships Dag Ekelberg, Ingebjørg Telnes Wilhelmsen, Tore Kallevåg, Synne Myhre Jensen, Beate Paulsrud, Ole Kolb, Stephan Steinlein, Dr. Christophe AREND, Emeline Santerre, Catharina Post, Dr. Florian Brahms, Dr. Julian Asmus Nebel, Christian Frohberg, Désirée Oberpichler, Thomas Michaelis, Jérôme Desquiens, Frédéric PETIT, Patrick Gerges, Sven Rösner, Céline Pizzotti, Evelyne Freitag, Manon Wahl, Frédérique Genton, LL.M, Olivier Meier, Olga HEIN, Pascal Jentsch, Benedicte de Peretti, Marlies Ullenboom , Christophe Debien, Eric DE RIEDMATTEN, Gert Van Avondt, Julien LEVER, Christophe IPPOLITO, Fabrizio Delage Paganini, Max Maldacker, Viktoria Schuck, ,Sandrine Couturier, Marielle Laetitia Sorge , Equinor, RWE
