Climate Arc ‘s mission is fueled by philanthropic funding.     Philanthropy is a critical enabler of climate action, providing organizations the agility to take risks, act boldly, and further catalyze investments from the public and private sectors.    ClimateWorks Foundation’s fifth annual report on global funding trends in climate philanthropy shows that Sustainable Finance, has been recognized as the fastest-growing enabling strategy being leveraged by climate philanthropy to meet global climate goals. 🎉 The International Transition Plan Network (ITPN) has launched at #COP29! 🤝 ITPN offers a collaborative platform for dialogue on consistent approaches to private sector transition planning. This collaboration supports private sector accountability and ensures alignment with national and global climate policies. Bill has over 25 years of experience in the sustainable technology sector within domestic and international companies spanning corporate leadership, sales, strategy, and marketing.  As a business leader, he has led global teams launching new products and expanding revenue in over 70 countries. Bill has served globally as an executive leader for startups and market leading enterprises in the ag-tech, clean-tech, and high-tech sectors. Most recently, he was the CEO of Signify’s Agricultural Lighting division and is currently Chief Executive Officer of Forever Oceans. To achieve global climate goals, we need to get local. We want to drive both national level ambitions and local action by surfacing the reality of private sector transitions on the ground. During #NYCW2024, Climate Arc, and ClimateWorks Foundation joined forces with several thematic partners to explore ways of building richer and more context-specific climate transition analysis.  🤝 Representatives from across philanthropy, non-profits, academia, and financial institutions came together to unpack the gaps and challenges involved in localizing analysis; discussing possible solutions, areas for stronger coordination, and the highest impact actions we could achieve together. 💡The dialogue was clear:  radical collaboration is key to power the localised transition analysis needed to meet global climate goals and ensure rapid change.  For a detailed overview of the workshop discussions, read our article below. By addressing priority actions together, we can create a more detailed, context-specific approach to unlocking climate transitions that bridge the gap between global objectives and local realities.
