Chris Pateman-Jones, Chair of ChargeUK and CEO of Connected Kerb, on Sky News discussing the Zero Emission Vehicle (ZEV) Mandate. ''There's no need to compromise on Zero Emission Vehicles (ZEV) Mandate right now. The ZEV targets are working and we should instead focus on driving demand for EVs. Softening ZEV standards could lead to fewer EVs on the road by 2030, causing investment challenges for EV charging infrastructure operators looking to deploy chargers ahead of demand.'' We’re excited to announce the launch of 30 new EV charging points across Rossendale Borough Council’s car parks! 🚗🔌 Council Leader Alyson Barnes said: "This is a major milestone in our efforts to create a greener, more sustainable borough. We’re proud to offer residents and visitors a robust and accessible EV charging network. Through our partnership with Connected Kerb and generous support from the Department for Transport and the Energy Saving Trust, we’ve been able to implement this vital infrastructure. We encourage everyone who owns or is considering an EV to take advantage of these new facilities." Chris Pateman-Jones CEO of Connected Kerb, said: “Enabling a full switch to electric vehicles means providing reliable, affordable, and convenient charging infrastructure for everyone – including residents with no access to off-street parking to charge at home. It’s really important that the UK builds a strong public charging network outside major cities, particularly in the North so I am thrilled that Rossendale Borough Council have chosen to work with Connected Kerb to help them bring sustainable mobility to their residents.” Martin Offiah M.B.E Brand Ambassador at Connected Kerb and an early adopter of EV said: "I'm thrilled to see Rossendale leading the way in sustainable transport. As an EV driver myself, I know how important it is to have convenient charging options. These new charge points will not only help reduce emissions and improve air quality, but they will also contribute to a more sustainable and vibrant community. By making it easier for people to switch to electric vehicles, we can create a cleaner, healthier, and more prosperous future for generations to come” A big thank you to Kwabena Osei Poku and his team for arranging the get together to celebrate this milestone! Connected Kerb Brand Ambassador, Martin Offiah M.B.E recently visited South Tyneside to witness the progress of the Borough's EV charging infrastructure rollout. "Electric vehicle charging infrastructure is crucial for a smooth transition from traditional vehicles to electric ones". "It's fantastic to see such significant progress in South Tyneside. Our team of volunteers from Connected Kerb had an incredible day volunteering at the Lower Woods for the Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust. We learned about the importance of coppicing for woodland health, got our hands dirty, and had a blast as a team. From the moment we met Neil, the site warden, we were captivated by the history and biodiversity of this special place. Despite the rain, our spirits were high as we worked together to clear a section of the woodland. Check out our blog post to find out more about our adventures on the day - https://hubs.li/Q02VsdcC0 #ConnectedforGood #BranchingOutChargingUp Gloucestershire County Council
