About us
CORNERSTONE is an open source, license free Silicon Photonics rapid prototyping foundry operating from the Universities of Southampton & Glasgow in the UK. We established CORNERSTONE as we had a vision for a “researcher’s” foundry, where new ideas could be tested away from rigid process flows and PDKs hidden in IP black boxes. From the outset, we were adamant that everything would be open-source to facilitate innovation and advance the field in a more collaborative and transparent manner. We base our fabrication capability around deep-UV lithography to simplify the scale-up process. Our initial goal was to serve the UK academic community, but our vision quickly gained global resonance. Now, we proudly support collaborators in over 20 countries. 🚀 Wave Photonics launches fabrication-aware scattering parameters (S-parameters) which facilitate users to assess the suitability and performance of Wave Photonics’ components for different #integrated #photonics applications. 💡 Users will benefit from S-parameters by incorporating into their circuits our components and testing them by using circuit simulation software. ➕ S-parameters tools offered by Wave Photonics are now available for CORNERSTONE silicon-on-insulator (SOI) and Silicon Nitride (SiN) PDKs.
