CMG extends its best wishes, hoping everyone enjoyed a wonderful Christmas break and is looking forward to a happy New Year. We are deeply saddened by the recent news of over 450 redundancies in the UK’s Superyacht production sector during the Christmas period. We understand how challenging and uncertain this time must be for those affected. At CMG, we specialize in placing skilled tradespeople in roles across the marine sector in the UK and overseas. Our goal is to support as many of you as possible during this time. We have numerous projects and production opportunities scheduled for 2025. Whether you're seeking contract work or a permanent position, we’d love to hear from you. Please send us your CV along with a brief note outlining the type of work you’re interested in, and we’ll do our very best to place you in exciting opportunities in 2025 and beyond. 📧 sharon@conceptmarinegroup.com Please share far and wide so we can reach as many of you as possible. #ConceptMarineGroup #BoatBuilding #ShipBuilding #Yacht #MarineIndustry #Hiring #Boat

2024: A WAVE of Change! You’ll have noticed we’ve been quiet on here recently……It’s been such a busy time on deck and it feels like Cleaner Seas Group® have packed a decades worth of growth into the last 6 months! The most exciting news being that we’re on the move… 🌊New Offices 🌊New Filter Products 🌊New Processes 🌊New Team Members 🌊New Collaborators 🌊New Recycling Plant 🌊So many home, commercial and industrial filters out there making a difference. ✊🏼 Most importantly, I’m so proud of how we’ve grown as a team this year, turning a startup with a vision into a scaleup with a roadmap. That’s all thanks to the amazing team at the helm, to which I’m very grateful. What remains consistent as we raise a glass to the past year is our mission, our North Star: to protect and restore our oceans from microplastic pollution. 2025 is set to be even bigger, straight out the gate, we’ll be tackling microplastic pollution on an even bigger scale, with more partners, on more shores and with more circular microplastic capture solutions. Thanks to everyone who’s supported us this year from suppliers to home filter users to our many partners and collaborators. ✊🏼🌊Together we CAN turn the tide on ocean pollution… Watch THIS space…🚀 Dave #cleanerseas #cleanerseasgroup

Marine Superintendent (DPA) at Isles of Scilly Steamship Group

Last week was one for the books. It started with travel across the country and ended with a logistical challenge just days before Christmas. A simple navigational equipment failure on one of our freight vessels forced it to return to Penzance - a decision that was absolutely necessary. (Imagine driving at 70mph, in the rain, in complete darkness, when your lights then fail). What happened next was nothing short of textbook teamwork. The entire Isles of Scilly Steamship Group team rallied together to ensure the Isles of Scilly continued receiving their pre-Christmas deliveries, and sends to the mainland needed to continue. Pilots returned from leave to operate extra freight flights, squeezing in an additional six trips to meet final postal deadlines. (There was even talk of driving deliveries further into the mainland systems if needed!) The determination didn’t stop there. Our Damen landing craft (Gugh) crew took on an epic extra over-night voyage (a bit like Santa!), ensuring not only critical freight but also special passengers (including a vicar!) made it to their destinations. Special thanks to FedEx for delivering the replacement part on time and to the incredible team at SIRM UK Marine Ltd for getting the vessel back into service with minimal disruption. The result? A collective effort that highlights what’s possible when a team pulls together with a singular mission: getting freight to and from the Isles of Scilly - by sea or air - whatever it takes (with the usual caveats!). Oh - and a couple of Christmas school plays, a dance show, and the normal Christmas hype in the Weise house!! Here’s to smoother weather next week (anyone for some snow?). Fingers crossed! 🤞🏻 #Teamwork #Logistics #IslesOfScilly #FreightForwarding #Resilience #ChristmasDeliveries #Cornwall #Shipping #Aviation Cornwall Chamber of Commerce / Cornwall Marine Network / UK Chamber of Shipping

Investing in this region's aquaculture sector is investing in food security inline with the UK's ESG targets!

Food security is in the spotlight – and the Great South West is at the heart of the solution. The Government’s 2024 Food Security Report highlights growing food insecurity in the UK, driven by global instability and climate change. That’s why our Food Security Position Paper is calling for urgent action. With the largest concentration of farms and fisheries in the country, the South West is uniquely positioned to strengthen the UK’s food security, but this requires strategic investment, support for farmers and producers, and stronger local supply chains. Recent Government announcements, such as the £343m investment into the rural economy, are welcome steps. But to truly secure the nation’s future food supply, we need long-term support for the South West’s agricultural sector – from regenerative farming and sustainable seafood to agritech and food production. Our message is clear: Invest in the South West, and you’re investing in the UK’s food security.
