  • 🌟 Match Report: Epworth Forest U10 Lionesses vs. Narborough Foxes! 🦁⚽ Last weekend the Epworth Forest U10 Lionesses faced off against Narborough Foxes in an exciting match! 🦁⚽ Before the game, the girls had the wonderful opportunity to meet and express their gratitude to Dave from Britannia Buffet Services, the generous sponsor of their home kit. 🙌 While the final score might not fully reflect the outcome, the girls delivered a commendable performance at times, showcasing their ability to play out from the back and execute some impressive passages of play. 🌟 Unfortunately, a few lapses in concentration led to some "soft" chances conceded, which we could have managed more effectively. We concentrated on our style of play, emphasising passing and movement, as opposed to a direct long-ball approach 👀. We controlled enough of the game and created more than enough chances, and on another day, those opportunities would have found the back of the net but it wasn’t our day. Selecting the Coach's Player of the Match was challenging as always, but we felt Isla earned the honour! 🏆 She was the driving force behind many of our attacks, displaying good skills and determination throughout the game. Additionally, Miya was awarded the Parents' Player of the Match for her solid defensive performance, showcasing great tackling and composure on the ball. 🙌💪

  • 🌟 Last weekend, our U8 Lionesses hosted Croft Juniors for a much-anticipated home fixture after agreeing to a reversal due to the recent heavy rains making their pitch unplayable. After weeks of rain it was like playing on a summers day 🌤️ It was a closely contested match, showcasing fantastic football from both teams. After trailing for most of the game, we made a remarkable comeback in the final quarter, with standout performances from Hattie ⚽️ and Ava ⚽️⚽️⚽️ helping us secure the well-deserved result. A special shoutout goes to Lillia for effectively applying the skills we practiced in training—it's always rewarding to see that in action! 💜 Player of the Week award goes to Ava for her impressive work rate and sharp finishing. Congratulations, Ava! 🏆 Looking forward to our next challenge! Thanks to Page Plumbing for sponsoring the team

  • Epworth U12 Tigresses v Anstey Nomads U13 Wildcats Quarter final County cup action at Holmes Park for the Tigresses last week against an Anstey Nomads team who were unbeaten with an excellent defensive record. The girls started strongly with goals from Bella, Orla and Lola (pen) in the first half. Four more goals followed in the second half from Bella, Emmie, Willow and Lillie (pen) to seal the convincing win and ensure our place in the hat for the next round. When needed the defensive back four were strong against Anstey’s big and powerful centre forward, and Evanie was able to deal calmly with anything that came her way. Missing a few players the whole team were excellent, playing some lovely football with any number of the girls deserving of player of the match. Parents player of the match - Lillie Thank you to our sponsor Collision Repair Group as always.

  • Epworth Bears U13s v Wigston Comets U13s The Bears faced 2nd place Wigston Comets in their final game of 2024. After a pretty frantic first 15 minutes it was Priya who put Bears ahead with one of her trademark shots, curled in from the edge of the box. Wigston defended well and never gave up, but 1 min later Lacey chipped the keeper with a lovely goal to make it 2-0 to Bears. However, the Comets were not going down without a fight and on 18 mins slotted one into the bottom corner of the goal. Kearna had a great game and making several agile saves. However, the away teams pacey number 9 equalised on 29 mins and it was 2-2 at the break. Bears started positively after half time with Liv putting a real shift in down the left and 10 minutes into the 2nd half she hit the bar and Laila put the follow up just over the bar. Kearna then tipped a Wigston chance onto the bar at the other end. Bears peppered the Wigston goal with chances and dominated the play as the half went on. Credit to Comets keeper who also had a solid game. The Bears finally broke the deadlock a few minutes from time when Jasmeen hit home from close range, after some great work by debutant Leilani, who came close to scoring herself. Parents Player of the Match was Leilani for a fantastic debut!

  • 🏆 Match Report: U12 Lionesses in Action! 🦁 After receiving the green light for our match on Sunday 8th December, the Lionesses bravely made their way to Coalville for a fixture played in storm-force winds and heavy rain! 🌧️💨 Despite facing the wind in the first half, the girls showcased incredible determination and skill, going into halftime with a well-deserved lead. While we started a bit slow in the first quarter of the game, our team's determination shone through as we fought hard for the remainder of the match. After the break, both teams created some fantastic chances, but a special shoutout to Nancy-Leigh for her standout defensive performance! Mia and Molly also put in great efforts on the attack, driving the team forward. Even with the fact they only had 5 players on the field, the U10 Panthers demonstrated incredible teamwork, showcasing brilliant attacking and defending. Despite the extremely wet and windy conditions, the girls played with heart and resilience. • Match Report: U8 Lionesses Vs Ashby Ivanoe Sunday 8th December: Proud to report on another great performance from our U8 Lionesses! 🦁 In a home fixture against Ashby Ivanhoe, the team showed their resilience and skill despite the challenging weather conditions. The morning started off nice and crisp, but the weather quickly turned rainy and cold. 🌧️ However, that didn't stop our young lionesses from putting on an impressive display of teamwork and talent. The game was closely contested, with both teams showcasing great football. ⚽ Our very own Brooke had a standout attacking performance, setting up Ava and with a strike of her own 🥅 But the player of the week award has to go to our goalkeeper, Florence. She put on an incredible display of shot-stopping, bravely facing the elements for the entire game. 🧤 Her commitment and skill were truly inspiring. It's moments like these that make me proud to be a part of this team. The Lionesses continue to impress with their determination, teamwork, and sportsmanship. 🏆 Bring on the next match! #UnitedWeRoar #LionessesOnTheRise #YouthFootball

  • A little late with this one, Epworth Forest U10 Foxes Vs Kibworth Town: 🏆 **Coaches' View: Match Report** 🏆 We faced a tough challenge against the experienced Kibworth Town U10s, who have been competing in the Platinum League for quite some time. 🌧️ Despite the challenging weather conditions, I was incredibly proud of how our girls held their own for the majority of the game! 💪🏽⚽ Both teams showed great adaptability, focusing on teamwork and passing rather than long balls. Well done to both teams for their fantastic effort! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 A special shoutout to our parents and this week’s Reflex Vehicle Hire Player of the Week! 🌟 She covered almost every inch of the pitch on Sunday—amazing work! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Lastly, a big thank you to our kit sponsor, Reflex Vehicle Hire, for the thoughtful Advent Calendars for the girls! 🎁🎉 Let’s keep up the great work, team! 💖 #TeamSpirit #U10Football #Gratitude
