We know some people need extra help at this time of year and we want to make sure we can share the different services that are available to female veterans in the lead up to Christmas. If you work for or know of any service that is providing support for female veterans over the winter period, please let us know in the comments below so we can spread awareness of those already doing great work - Thank you!

Great event run by a fantastic team

On the 28th November, Lisa Rawlings MSc & I will be hosting our next Female Veterans Alliance event, being held at The Village Hotel, Cardiff 🏴 This stakeholder workshop follows the research carried out during our previous 3 workshops - held in June 2022, October 2023 & September 2024 – where we brought together female veterans from all over the UK to talk about their experiences of Service, transition and integration back into civilian life. Amidst the success stories and uplifting experiences shared, unfortunately the majority were truly heartbreaking and proof that ‘we’ have been failed at all 3 touch points of our research. The next step in our plan is to bring together leading experts and change makers, so we can create actionable solutions, based on the findings & recommendations from our published reports. We will be focusing discussions and actions based on the 6 themes from the UK Veteran Strategy: 1: Community and relationships 2: Employment, education and skills 3: Finance & debt 4: Health & wellbeing 5: Making a home in civilian street 6: Veterans & the law We have been overwhelmed by the incredible support we have received from organisations throughout the UK and we are super excited to bring all their representatives together in less than 2 weeks. Amazon | Alabaré | Cornerstone Opportunities CIC | Caerphilly Lettings | Caerphilly County Borough Council | Citizens Advice | Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) | The Veterans' Foundation | Royal British Legion | Hugh James | Cardiff and Vale University Health Board | Fighting With Pride - LGBT+ Military Charity | Office for Veterans' Affairs | Llywodraeth Cymru / Welsh Government | Royal Naval Association | The Poppy Factory | Anglia Ruskin University | Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board | Cabinet Office | Sierra Nevada Corporation Mission Systems UK | Career Transition Partnership | Remoo Mortgages | YourNorth | UK government | Female Veterans' Transformation Programme If you are an individual, business or organisation from the UK with specialised knowledge of any of the above themes and you would like to participate in this ground-breaking research & action project, please send me a DM or email: 📧 events@femaleveteransalliance.org

Sharing ahead of bonfire night for anyone who might find this useful
As part of my minor role in NHS England's Patient and Public Voice for the Armed Forces Community. I was sent a leaflet for veterans that may suffer during Bonfire Night to distribute around my networks. I must say, I think this is one of the best I have seen. Please do share widely....

This week we held the last in our series of focus groups. Over the course of our consultation we estimate that we will have spoken to roughly 900 female veterans. Thank you so much to everyone who completed a questionnaire, took part in a focus group or encouraged others to get involved. Watch this space for the feedback and findings which we hope to publish really soon

We’ve had another busy week in the programme! We held our first toolkit development focus group, presented at the Somerset AFC conference and attended the Armed Forces Covenant Conference in Winchester. Networking and collaboration are essential to the development of our work and the success of the programme so thank you to everyone who continues to support us Teri Underwood Liza Jarvis
