About us

Energy Futures Lab is a cross-discipline institute based at Imperial College London. The institute was founded in 2005 to develop multidisciplinary, cross-faculty collaborations to tackle the broad range of energy challenges that the world faces. The institute defines the work it does through five research themes. All of our activities are designed to stimulate interaction across the discipline boundaries and to enhance Imperial College London’s impact on the five themes of Clean Fossil Fuels, Energy Infrastructure, Low Carbon Cities and Transport, Policy and Innovation and Sustainable Power. Imperial College London is a world leader in addressing global energy challenges. Energy Futures Lab works within the university to build on this reputation by: * Educating and inspiring future leaders in energy * Communicating key messages about energy research within Imperial and beyond * Being the focal point for the Imperial energy research community * Being the access point for external stakeholders interested in energy at Imperial * Identifying high impact energy research opportunities and supporting energy researchers in maximising them
