Yesterday was our last full day in the office as a team before switching off until January. We marked the occasion with some Secret Santa fun, a takeaway lunch, and even a surprise bottle of champagne gifted by a client – not a bad way to round off the year! 🍾 My Secret Santa gift? A mug that says, "My favourite employee gave me this mug." Of course, the best part is that I have no idea who bought it..... Kasey Wilkinson 😂 I’ll be honest – I’m usually terrible at practising gratitude and looking back. It’s so easy to focus on what’s next and keep pushing forward. But as we head into 2025, I want to make more of an effort to reflect and appreciate both the highs and the lows that come with running a business. Now feels like the perfect time to start. Looking back, here are a few things that stand out from this year at Ink Digital: ✨ Worked with 71 different businesses across SEO, PPC, HubSpot CRM, website design, and migration projects. ✨ Grew from 7 employees to 12, welcoming some brilliant new team members. ✨ Became a HubSpot partner, a huge milestone for us. Top work from John Hutson ✨ Partnered with some of the biggest names in the UK travel industry, delivering projects we’re really proud of. But it hasn’t all been plain sailing. Like any business, we’ve had our challenges: 💡 Pitches we didn’t win. 💡 Valued clients moving on. 💡 Saying goodbye to team members who’ve moved on to new opportunities. These moments are tough, but they’ve been key in helping us grow, learn, and improve as a business. Looking back, I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved this year – and I can’t wait to see what 2025 will bring.

In 2024, we at Ink Digital have had the privilege of working with 14 different travel businesses. From domestic and short-haul travel to group tours, corporate and B2B travel, and niche operators, we’ve seen first-hand how dynamic and challenging the travel industry is right now. Through these partnerships, we’ve identified some of the main issues facing travel businesses today: 1️⃣ Intense Competition Online: Competing against OTAs and big brands for SEO visibility is harder than ever, especially for smaller operators. 2️⃣ Consumer Hesitation: Economic pressures are making customers more cautious, leading to longer decision-making cycles and lower conversion rates. 3️⃣ Shifting Booking Patterns: Last-minute bookings and unpredictable travel behaviours make it tough to forecast and allocate resources. 4️⃣ Demand for Personalisation: Travellers now expect tailored experiences, from booking to the trip itself, requiring businesses to use customer data effectively. 5️⃣ Sustainability Expectations: Consumers want eco-friendly travel options, but balancing this with affordability and profitability is a challenge. Despite these challenges, we’ve also seen incredible resilience and innovation within the industry. The key is finding the right strategies to navigate these hurdles and position your business for growth. I’d love to hear from others in the travel space—are these issues you’re seeing too? How are you tackling them? #travelmarketing #travelseo #travelbusiness

Since starting Ink Digital, I’ve had over 450 meetings booked with me to discuss SEO challenges and how we can help businesses grow. What’s even more exciting is that over 95% of these meetings have been inbound—either through our own SEO efforts or referrals. In the past 3–4 months, we’ve hit a new high: ✅ The most visible we’ve ever been ✅ The strongest pipeline we’ve ever had But there’s been a noticeable shift: the percentage of conversations turning into projects or campaigns has dropped. It’s clear that this is a tough time for many businesses, and with economic uncertainty, there’s more hesitation in decision-making. But here’s what we’ve noticed: ❌ Booking a meeting and not showing up ❌ Going through the call process and then going silent ❌ Not providing feedback after discussions ❌ Taking our strategy insights and implementing them in-house without further engagement To address this, we’ve applied a little more friction to our process. By refining how we qualify leads and setting clearer expectations upfront, we’re ensuring that we’re having the right conversations with the right people—saving everyone’s time and creating more value. I’m interested to hear if other agencies or B2B providers are seeing similar trends. What changes are you making to adapt and improve how you manage leads and client relationships? #seoagency #agencyowners #b2bmarkeitng #b2bsales #b2b

Yesterday, I shared how focusing on 2025, 2026, and even 2027 can give travel businesses a competitive edge. Today, here’s the proof. This chart shows the results from a single destination landing page we created for one of our travel clients targeting 2027 demand. With this simple optimisation, impressions and clicks scaled significantly (and still rising) delivered: 👉 700 new clicks 👉 £20,607 in additional revenue 👉 £6,182 in net profit And this is just one destination. This client covers 200+ destinations, so you can imagine the total impact of applying this approach across their portfolio. Travel brands and marketing teams can achieve similar results by prioritising changes in ROI order: 1️⃣ Identify high-demand destinations or niches: Use search trends to focus on locations or offerings where demand is growing for future years. 2️⃣ Create optimised landing pages: Ensure these pages are SEO-optimised, with targeted keywords and a clear call-to-action to convert visitors into bookings. 3️⃣ Leverage data for decision-making: Track the impact of clicks, conversion rates, and booking values to refine and scale efforts further. 4️⃣ Repeat and scale: Roll out the strategy for other destinations or customer segments, starting with the highest potential ROI. This isn’t about competing for SEO authority with industry giants. It’s about being agile and strategic to capture demand before others do. ✈️ With just 23 days left in 2024, how many people are still booking trips for this year? Not many. If you’re in the travel business, your real focus should already be on 2025 and beyond. Yet, major players like British Airways Holidays , Virgin Holidays + Hip Hotels , TUI and On the Beach are still heavily optimising for 2024 and 2025. That’s your opportunity. Recently, we helped one of our clients outrank these giants—not by trying to match their SEO authority (an uphill and expensive battle) but by targeting strategic quick wins that allowed them to dominate specific niches. The lesson? Being agile and forward-thinking can level the playing field. Businesses that start planning for 2025, 2026, and even 2027 now will gain a significant competitive edge. The countdown to Christmas is well underway! We’ve got the tree up, the Secret Santa box ready, and even given the digital display a festive spruce-up here at Ink Digital. December is always a busy time in B2B, especially with travel clients gearing up for their January peaks. Deadlines might not slow down this month, but the festive touches in the office make it all a bit more enjoyable as we work through the final weeks of the year. Not long now until we can take a well-earned break and come back refreshed for whatever 2025 has in store.

5 things to consider before you take on an SEO project. 1. Do you have the resources to make it a success? 2. Does the client's expectations match with what's realistic? 3. Does the budget enable the client to be competitive against main competitors? 4. Is the client committed to the process & understanding of the timeline? 5. Is it the type of client your team want to work with? Starting an SEO project needs to be right for both the client, the agency, and the internal team managing it. One thing I wish I'd learned at the start of my journey was not to take on every project but to take on the projects that were right for us. It's not an exact science, and there will be campaigns you start that you wish you hadn't—but asking the right questions initially will help prevent this more often than not. What is your process for working out if an agency or an SEO prospect is a good fit for you? #seostrategy #seoagency #seotips #businessdevelopment #businessgrowth #performancemarketing
