John Doe is a creative agency that builds brand that matter.

About us

John Doe is a creative agency that makes the unknown, known. Boutique Agency of the Year 2022. We build brands recognised for who they are and why they matter. Empty words and gestures make brands boring and forgettable. We confront that. Across channels and across the country, we communicate their reason for being. By asking ‘who cares?’, we spark honest conversations & ground campaigns in emotion and truth. It puts people at the heart of what we do. PR, advertising, digital, content, experiential: John Doe is a production house for lasting stories.

OOOFT, what a night! 🍻 Last month we transformed a Glasgow off-licence into a pop-up gig venue: The OOOFT Licence. For one night only, the OOOFT Licence opened its doors for an evening of epic DJ sets, headlined by LF System, enjoyed with cold cans of Tennent’s - the ultimate oooft moment Celebrating Scotland’s favourite lager and Scotland’s favourite DJ duo, fans of Tennent’s could bag themselves a ticket, all for the price of a can Our accounts and studio teams delivered the creative concept, event production, social content & PR. Well done to Ollie Adams, Gillian Lamont, Bethan Mackenzie, Kirsty Stevenson, Suzanne Waters & Pamela Scobbie for bringing this to life 👏 🔗 Links in comments for coverage

A lot can happen in two years 💛 In 2022, I headed to my first The Marketing Society Scotland St Andrew’s Dinner in Edinburgh. On the train back home, the concept of UNLOCKED (before it even had a name) was born after having an honest convo with Pamela Scobbie on how we can play a part on improving representation and opportunity in Scotland’s creative industry 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Fast forward two years, this Wednesday our John Doe team headed to the same St Andrew’s Day Dinner in Glasgow but this time we were invited to bring what we now know as UNLOCKED interns with us 🙌🏾 Shoutout to UNLOCKED interns, Alyssa Campbell & Stephanie Hunter from Leith, Maria Mulvenna from STV Creative and Alexander Blair from The Scottish Government for getting suave and glam to experience their first industry dinner event and lighting up the ceilidh dancefloor ❤️🔥💃🏾 Ideas becoming reality being manifested so tangibly like this is truly one of those pinch me moments ☺️ 📧 If you want to learn more about UNLOCKED, please email unlockednorth@johndoehub.com

Managing Partner & CCO at John Doe

Today is the day. A once-in-a-generation vote that we are so honoured to have played a part in at John Doe. It’s a complicated, nuanced and, for many, uncomfortable subject. But having spent the past couple of months sitting with hundreds and hundreds of incredibly moving personal stories, I’m more convinced than ever. Assisted dying should be legalised. Over the past few days, we’ve had our Dignity in Dying adverts - featuring real people, brave enough to share their powerful personal stories - vandalised. But they’ve also been featured across every single major media title, and talked about positively by those who welcome change, creating a important focal point for the debate. If you’re just joining the conversation now, here are some things to know: 🩷 contrary to what the opposition will tell you, this is not assisted suicide. This is assisted dying. It’s for people who are terminally ill, with less than six months to live, who do not want to suffer. 🩷 the argument is for choice. For many people who are terminally ill, fearing the end is a huge anxiety. It will be a comfort to know that they have the option to control the end of their lives. But it does not mean that they will, or have to, exercise that choice. 🩷 if MPs vote positively today, that is not the end of the story - it’s the beginning of a long, layered legal journey, where safeguarding and practicalities will continue to be crafted. 🩷 the overwhelming majority of the British public want this Bill to pass - a majority across every constituency. It’s been emotional. But I wholeheartedly hope today brings change. And I hope that change is choice.
