Revolutionising Mental Health through Good Family Relationships | Systemic Change | Social Impact | ***WE ARE HIRING***
About us
In the UK and USA, 25% of young people are struggling with their mental health. With 48% of parents and carers losing productive work time to care for a young person with poor mental health. What makes a real difference to children and young people's mental health is the quality of their relationships. Parents and carers are best placed to help young people develop strong, nurturing relationships, so we have created LOHA. The first digitised platform that helps parents and carers build closer connection with young people through curiosity, understanding and empathy. This grows their young person's self-esteem and confidence, causing their mental health to spiral up instead of down. The activities the LOHA digital platform provides facilitates therapeutic interaction in an easy, accessible and engaging way. We support parents and carers to help young people to great mental health through the power of transformative relationships, which assists parents, educators, and employers. Our vision is for all young people to develop the skills they need for a life-time of good mental health.

Last Thursday, LOHA teamed up with Fruitfly Collective - a charity who support parents and carers who are diagnosed with cancer. Parents and carers diagnosed with cancer face significant health challenges. The relationships with their partner and their children can be seriously disrupted and cause mental health challenges for everyone involved. Finding ways to talk about what's happening, emotional reactions and managing fears and concerns is essential for everyone involved. What is more acute is the parent diagnosed with cancer is having to care for their own feelings and thoughts about their situation and manage the emotional reactions of their children. Fruitfly and LOHA have announced their collaboration, they are working together to support parents diagnosed with cancer to help their families manage their distress and find new ways of supporting each other. Having families members working together to share experiences, concerns, and to identify their strengths, helps everyone through the difficulties and challenges faced whilst a parent undergoes cancer treatment. All of us at LOHA are looking forward ro working with families from the fruitfly collective to make a difficult situation as manageable as possible.

Poor mental health in children and young people (CYP) is extremely prevalent nowadays. 20% of children aged 8–16 were reported to have a probable mental disorder in the UK in 2023* and the annualised rate of self-harm incidents per 100 children/ young people per year was 420.9 from January to March 2024, an increase of 119% compared to the same period last year!** These statistics are reaching scary new heights, and something needs to be done. Demand for CYP mental health services has increased by 93% between November 2019 and November 2023***, and in the last year 40,000 young people waited over two years to get help from these services****. This situation will only get worse without intervention, which is why LOHA has the answer. LOHA can provide affordable, accessible and immediate help for teens and their families to learn the skills they need to cope with difficult challenges and overcome emotional distress. Today is LOHA’s B2B launch, we will be available to all! Let us help you to make certain that your child or a young person you know doesn’t become another statistic. Work with us to build C.U.R.E (Connection, Understanding, Resilience and Empathy) in all families that need assistance when battling with teenage mental health issues. We’re excited to share that LOHA Digital Systemic Therapy is now open to Charities, Schools, and Healthcare organizations for group bookings and referrals! 🚀 Big thanks to Caroline Leek and our partner, Fruitfly Collective, for making this possible. Caroline has a background in neuroscience research and medicine regulation policy. In 2012, she founded the multi-award-winning Fruit Fly Collective, a not-for-profit organisation that focuses on empowering parents diagnosed with cancer to navigate family life and support their children. They aim to enhance families’ cancer understanding, boost communication, support mental well-being, and equip them with skills to navigate life during and after cancer. Their ongoing project, ‘Parenting with Cancer,’ funded by Macmillan and The National Lottery, involves creating a hub for parental cancer support and healthcare professional training. Excitingly, LOHA will be assisting 40 families through this new collaboration. To explore Caroline's impactful work with Fruitfly, visit their website: www.fruitflycollective.com Charities and organizations interested in partnering with LOHA, reach out to us at info@loha-community.com Thank you for your attention! 🌷 #parentingwithcancer #digital_systemic_therapy #starttheconversation

Thanks for sharing Richard. LOHA are uniquely placed to work with NHS England in Healthcare Innovation and Conversational AI to improve the mental health outcomes of Children and Young People. We can turn the CAMHS waiting list into the preparation list, and if The NHS adopt our intervention, eliminate that waiting list altogether. www.loha-community.com #healthcareinnovation #teenmentalhealth #conversationalAI #LOHA #timeforachange #starttheconversation #nhs #camhs #therapy

I recently attended a webinar by Health Contracts International (HCI) and P4H on "The Role of Regional Hubs and Integrated Care Systems in NHS Procurement." It provided guidance on how companies like LOHA can better align with NHS priorities to enhance our support for teenage mental health. 🌐 NHS Procurement Hubs: These hubs can significantly streamline the procurement process, using experts to identify the best opportunities for our services. This means LOHA can focus on what matters most while the hubs support us to handle the complexities of logistics and procurement. 🤝 Integrated Care Systems (ICS): We were particularly encouraged to learn about the ICS's goal to promote a prevention-over-treatment model, which allows us to reach teenagers earlier. Conversational AI was also highlighted as being an enabler to reach diverse communities with cultural or language barriers to the NHS. 🔑 Key Takeaway: Navigating NHS procurement isn’t straightforward. However, early engagement, a deep understanding of the system, and demonstrating how we can add value—particularly by contributing to cost savings—seem like an important step for early stage companies to collaborate with the NHS. #MentalHealth #NHSProcurement #LOHA #TeenMentalHealth #HealthcareInnovation #conversationalAI

Yesterday LOHA attended The NHS LTP & ICS 2024 Conference at The Royal Society of Medicine, London. Alison Metcalfe spoke about the LOHA mission - 'To provide parents and carers with the tools to help their teenager or young person overcome emotional distress and achieve better mental health to last a lifetime'. There were some inspiring speakers and we connected with several organisations so thanks to Dr William Bird MBE, Emily Smith, Intelligent Health UK, SureScreen Diagnostics, Govconnect, Bipolar UK and NHS England. We also talked about some of the wonderful partners we are working with such as #Huntingdonsdiseaseassociation and #Fruitflycollective and will be posting more about these collaborations over the coming weeks. Together we can create sustainable change and give our children and young people a better future. 🌷 #NHS #childrensmentalhealth #systemicchange #nhslongtermplan #ICB #Digital_Systemic_Therapy #starttheconversation #lohahealth #CYP https://lnkd.in/eTm292K3
