London Search and Rescue is a volunteer-led charity trained to national standards, working alongside the police to locate vulnerable missing people across London. Our dedicated volunteers provide 24/7 on-call coverage, and we’ve recently partnered with an NHS Trust for faster deployments when needed. 🌟 Partnering in the mission to bring missing people home 🌟 We’re proud to be part of the Missing People Safeguarding Briefing Network, featured in the Daily Mirror’s Christmas Charity Appeal. The nationwide initiative connects over 2,000 organisations and individuals to support missing people in the most effective and sensitive ways. The network enables public facing workers - like librarians, soup kitchens, shelters and transport staff - to identify and assist vulnerable individuals. Within hours of receiving a briefing, some have helped locate and safeguard missing people, showing how impactful this collaboration can be. At LonSAR, the network provides us with updates. 🚨 Spotlight in the media: Missing People and London Search and Rescue 🚨 This weekend, the Daily Mirror shone a spotlight on the vital work of two organisations dedicated to supporting the emegency sevices, missing people and those that miss them 🗞️ Missing People provides a lifeline for families and individuals affected by disappearance, ensuring they never face these challenges alone ☎️ At LonSAR, we deploy highly trained volunteers to support the emergency services in locating high-risk missing people across #London 🔍 The story focuses on James, who serves as a trustee for Missing People, and is a member of our leadership team and an operational Search Technician. In our team, he volunteers as a Team Leader, Search Operations Manager, Water First Responder, Medic, Mental Health First Aider (and MHFA England® Instructor), Suicide First Aider and trainee kayak search technician.
