🌟 Celebrating Social Value in action! 🌟 Through our commitment to driving positive change, NEPO and our suppliers have contributed an impressive £2.74 million to local communities. Last winter, #TeamNEPO joined forces with our Janitorial and Facilities Supplies supplier, Bunzl Greenham, to tackle litter on Jackie’s Beach, part of the stunning Durham Heritage Coast. Incredibly proud of the whole #team from Sir Robert McAlpine, and their sub-contractors Hewitson Limited for delivering on their commitment under the NEPO Framework to Social Value. The #team delivering the new North East Space Skills Centre (NESST) for Northumbria University have been collecting food for the Newcastle West End Food Bank. Esh Construction has clocked up more than 65,500 hours on site as the team marks one year on site today at Stockton Waterfront Urban Park. The team broke ground on the transformational park - which is seen as a catalyst for regeneration in the town - in December 2023. Esh’s Divisional Director, Steven Garrigan, said: “This project reflects our commitment as a local contractor to create a lasting value for the communities we serve. In the run up to Christmas, our green team held a bring and buy which allowed our people the opportunity to sleigh the clutter and score some fabulous finds! Entry was given to those who provided an item to donate to the Newcastle Foodbank and £500 was raised for local reforestation projects, North East Community Forest and Tees Valley Combined Authority Trees on Tees🌲 All unsold items were donated St Vincent's Community Centre. We provide legal services through NEPO's procurement solutions, which work with providers to ensure social value is at the heart of all professional service activities provided through the framework. One highlight is Version 1's Early Careers Programme, which provided training for 16 graduates who went on to secure full-time positions with Version 1. One of the successful graduates was Cezary Zalesinski who has outlined how he benefited from being supported by the scheme: "As someone transitioning from a media background to the tech industry, I felt welcomed and supported by the Enabled Individuals team. Their care and understanding made me feel at home." Version 1 are the appointed supplier for the contract to provide maintenance and operational support for our new e-tendering system Open by NEPO.
