The wait is almost over – tomorrow we roll out the pink carpet for the hometown premiere of Smoggie Queens at Middlesbrough Town Hall🎬 This event marks a milestone for the North East’s rapidly growing screen industry, where production has increased by 89% in the past two years. Smoggie Queens is produced by Hat Trick Productions, and has been supported by the North East Production Fund. The North East Production Fund, managed by North East Screen is delivering rapid growth in the North East, driving inward investment, creating jobs and increasing visibility of our growing infrastructure. We are delighted that Phil Dunning, writer/performer from the region, has been supported to tell a local story that resonates with national and international audiences. He has written and stars in Smoggie Queens which starts on BBC Three at 10.10pm on Thursday 28th November and on BBC iPlayer. If you want to find out more about production in the North East and how the North East Production Fund is attraction productions to the region go to www.northeastscreen.org and sign up to our mailing list. #NESIP #NorthEastScreen #TVCA #NEPF #NEproduction #NEopportunities #NEjobs #BBCThree #HattrickProductions

  • ***CHRISTMAS APPEAL FOR CHILDREN’S SPORTS CLOTHING*** 👟We’re issuing a fresh appeal for residents to donate their unused sportswear to give a child the gift of being able to participate in sport this Christmas. 🏃♀️It’s approaching three years since the birth of the Kit out the Borough scheme which has helped provide children the opportunity to take part in sport when they might have previously missed out due to not having the appropriate clothing. 🎄With the Christmas holidays coming up, the Council is again asking for donations to help get more youngsters active across the Borough. 🎽The scheme remains on the look-out for boys and girls clothing, along with small adult clothing. 🧑🏾🤝🧑🏻Splash in Stockton, Billingham Forum, IB Leisure, Thornaby Pavilion and Thornaby Pool are all homes to the Kit out the Borough bins where the public can bring their unwanted clothing to donate. 🗣️Councillor Steve Nelson, the Council’s Cabinet Member for Health, Leisure, and Culture, said: “The Kit out the Borough scheme has played a big role in helping get youngsters into exercise when they previously might have missed out due to not having the correct clothing. “With Christmas on the way, it is a perfect time for the people of the Borough to clear out their cupboards and give youngsters the gift of being able to participate in sport activities. “Regular exercise provides physical and mental benefits for our children and young people – and no child should be missing out on that opportunity. “All we ask is the people of the Borough bring in their unwanted sportswear, which is in a good, usable and clean condition to one of our donation bins.”
