🏥This week, OneMedical Property Has Commenced the Work for an Exciting new home for St. Marys Medical Centre, New Era Square, Sheffield 🏥   OneMedical Property is thrilled to announce the creation of a brand-new home for St. Mary’s Medical Centre, in New Era Square, Sheffield, set to open in late Spring 2025. The practice’s new Medical Centre is currently undergoing a complete fit-out to create a state-of-the-art healthcare facility designed to better serve the local community. The medical centre will feature fully fit out clinical and treatment rooms, a spacious waiting area, reception, storage spaces, and office spaces. It will also include a versatile multi-use room designed for community healthcare needs. OneMedical Property have worked closely with St. Marys Medical Centre (part of Steel City General Practice) , the NHS South Yorkshire ICB, Sheffield City Council, QAD Architects, contractors Ben Johnson Interiors Ltd and local community members, to ensure this project meets the needs of patients and staff alike. Josephine, the Practice Business Manager said “We are delighted to bring this much-needed resource to New Era Square for St. Marys Medical Centre, offering a modern, accessible space for patients and healthcare providers alike. The new medical centre will significantly enhance the experience for all who walk through its doors. We are excited for the future of this facility and how it will serve its patients for many years to come.”  The current practice will continue to operate without disruption during the transition, and the dedicated staff will remain in place to continue providing high-quality care to all patients. The transformation is scheduled to be completed by late Spring 2025, and the practice looks forward to welcoming the community into the new space. It’s hard to believe that it’s been 17 years since Nicola Voase joined QAD Architects! Over the years, Nicky has worked on a diverse range of projects across various sectors, each with its own set of unique challenges. Her ability to navigate these complexities and deliver outstanding results is amazing. In 2019, Nicky took on an even greater role when she joined our board of directors, and since then, she has been a trailblazer for women in architecture, inspiring others and leading by example. Her dedication, creativity, and vision have played an instrumental part in shaping the success of our practice. As a small practice ourselves, we’re thrilled to have Paul Wainwright as the chair of the RIBA Yorkshire Small and Emerging Practice Network . It’s an exciting opportunity for us to engage with a wider community of like-minded professionals. Today, Paul Wainwright participated in an insightful online session, which saw around 170 attendees. The focus of the discussion was on Biodiversity Net Gain, an increasingly important topic in the architectural and environmental fields. Since it is National Apprenticeship Week and today is Employers Day, we thought we would share what our apprentice has been up to at QAD. Our Business Administrator Apprentice Nerae Lawrence started her apprenticeship with VQ Solutions Ltd back in August and has now been with us at QAD Architects for 6 months. Since joining us she has been involved in a range of different duties around the office. As well as gaining experience in business administration, she also developing her creative side with the use of Photoshop and Pitch. Her favourite creative project she has worked on so far is the QAD 20 Years colouring book made from sketches of her favourite QAD projects which we are giving out to the children from St Lukes Primary School throughout this week.
