🌊 A New Wave of Hope for Harbour Seals! 🌊 Rehabilitating Harbour Seals has always been a delicate challenge, but this year, with determination, research, and a willingness to innovate, we’ve achieved something incredible! 💙 After struggling with low success rates for years, our seal team decided to try a new approach. We reached out to a small seal rehabilitation centre with fantastic results, and they shared their methods. 🐟 Instead of fish soup, we introduced a lactose free seal specific milk diet enriched with mackerel for calories and liver oil nutrients. 💭 We focused on their social and mental well-being, raising them closer to how their mums would, alongside other pups. ⏰ We added extra feeds, every two hours from morning until night, and carefully monitored their health and transitions. The result? A leap from our previous success rates of 25-39% to an astounding 83.3% this year! 🎉 This is a monumental moment for our seal team and the adorable Harbour Seals we’ve cared for. 🎄🐾 The Grinch paid a surprise visit to our Edinburgh Rescue and Rehoming Centre this Christmas… but even he couldn’t resist the charm of our rescue animals! 🐶🐱🐰 At first, he tried to steal the Christmas spirit, but one wagging tail and a few purrs later, his heart grew three sizes. 💚💜💚 By the end of his visit, he was handing out treats and cuddles like a pro! 🎄🐾 Indie and Benji’s First Christmas at Home 🐾🎅 This festive season is extra special for Indie and Benji as they celebrate their first Christmas in their loving forever homes! These two incredible dogs were part of the Cairnryan case earlier this year and were among the 24 puppies rescued. They have brought so much love, joy, and adventure to their new families already, and they’re ready to enjoy all the festive fun. ✨ Indie will be celebrating his birthday on December 4th before joining his family for a cosy Christmas at home, complete with his very own dog-friendly dinner and eggnog! Over the holidays, he’ll visit family in England and explore new walking spots near his home. Indie’s Christmas surprises include a new football for the garden, an upsized version of his favourite teddy, and a stylish Harris Tweed red collar. He’s a bundle of love and mischief, bringing endless laughter to his family. 🐾 Benji (formerly Bentley) joined his family in February after they spotted his story and knew he was meant to be theirs. This Christmas will be filled with love and chaos as Benji enjoys the company of his extended family and forms an unbreakable bond with his 20-month-old human best friend. With his gentle and forgiving nature, Benji is already being considered as a future therapy dog. This Christmas, he’ll be right in the heart of the celebrations, filling the home with joy and warmth.
