Real World AI Use Cases - CareScribe CareScribe are a Bristol based company on a mission to make the world more accessible using tech. They were one of the speakers at the Ghyston Impact Conference on Monday (the kick off for Bristol Tech Festival). During the talk they did a live demo of their transcription product Caption.Ed which uses AI to transcribe live or recorded media. While Tom Cartwright and Elle Chappell spoke the audience got to see the words appear on their phones - which was very accurate and quick. The product has been designed with those with dyslexia front of mind but helps everyone with productivity and accessibility in the workplace, their studies, or random places (Tom gave the example of using it in meetings for parents to keep track of dates and important tasks). An important point was highlighted in the talk (and in the audience discussion) about designing for inclusivity benefits ever users. Something we should all be mindful of when we design AI tools - ensuring accessibility and ease of use should not be an afterthought. We love this example of using AI to solve a real world problem. #aiforgood #ai #alwayslearning

AI in real life - Social workers across several London Boroughs have been using AI to record and analyse face-to-face meetings. The software Magic Notes AI (created by Beam can be downloaded on the social workers phone, and is being used to relieve the administrative burden (by creating notes and taking actions like drafting letters to GPs). The results of these pilots have been positive, including helping social workers with dyslexia and allowing case workers to spend more time interacting with residents. It is estimated this will save £2b per year in saved admin costs! An example of how AI tools designed for specific purposes can have the most impact as they focus on the needs and outputs for their users. Welcome to our newest human - Thomas Pyle 🎉 We'll let Tom introduction himself: "I'm Tom, a recent graduate of the Media Communications course at Bath Spa University. Outside of the media and marketing, my personal interests involve playing music and buying/selling antiques and vintage. I feel like my own data and AI skills are lacking, but am aware of the importance of these in many roles including marketing, which is why I’m excited to get involved with this start-up, looking to improve myself professionally as well as helping Taught by Humans use the DOT-ed platform to benefit others." Tom is joining us to work on marketing for 12 weeks as part of the Graduate Placement programme at Bath Spa. He's already got stuck in getting to know ChatGPT and Claude (so far he's team ChatGPT, we'll keep you updated 😂 ) We're super happy to have Tom as one of humans! #intern #alwayslearning #marketing
