Throughout December the Convatec Christmas Elves have been busy volunteering to spread Christmas joy to the Paddington community. A special thank you everyone at Convatec, you all made it a Christmas to remember! Highlights have included: 🎉 Supported 4 community organisations 👏 84 hours of volunteering 🎁 Wrapped 206 Christmas presents for a local school children 🎄 Decorated Daventry House, Notting Hill Genesis a local care home to celebrate it's first Christmas with residents ☃️ Created a magical Winter Grotto for families to enjoy ✨ Untangled countless sets of fairy lights! Last Friday festive volunteers from Vodafone visited King Solomon Academy to help set up for the schools annual Christmas Fair. The team helped transform the playground into a Winter Wonderland, including a magical Santa's Grotto, ready for Father Christmas to hand out presents to pupils! The team also host craft activities and helped to sell pre-loved toys raising vital funds for the school. Thank you Ezgi YILDIRIM for all your support! #Christmas2024

On Tuesday volunteers from Heathrow Express brought festive joy to St Mary Magdalene & St Stephen's Primary School. The team decorated the school's reception area, Christmas tree, and used their creative flair to draw colourful Christmas designs on the windows. 🎄Christmas has officially arrived in Paddington!🎄Kingfisher plc colleagues visited The Happy Hub, braving the cold weather to clean and decorate the much-loved Christmas truck which transports Father Christmas and his reindeer to the annual Christmas light switch on in Queens Park. Volunteers were also busy inside The Happy Hub assembling Christmas trees and hanging fairy lights. This small, unassuming collection of former industrial warehouses in Paddington is set to bring the world's best minds together to tackle antimicrobial resistance (AMR). Part of the Fleming Initiative, The Fleming Centre will include an interactive exhibition space, education centre, events programme, café, research facilities and offices - providing a dedicated space to bring together researchers, policymakers, clinicians, behavioural experts, commercial partners and the public to combine their shared networks, expertise and skills. An RIBA design competition will see the five shortlisted entries on display to members of the public for feedback next week, from 26 to 28 November, on site at The Bays (pictured). https://lnkd.in/ecG5A44W

This week our Community Team visited Vertex Pharmaceuticals Community Lab in Milton Park. Thank you Roberts Zivtins and Reba Honey Wakeling for the insightful guided tour, it was incredible to hear how local schools are being introduced to STEM with hands-on experiments. Vertex also offer paid summer internships, another brilliant way to engage the community and broaden career opportunities. We look forward to our next visit!
