As the British Museum embarks on a £1 billion redevelopment, we firmly believe it is time to give Britain’s role in transatlantic enslavement the prominence it deserves. This is an opportunity to reflect on how Britain truly was, how Britain truly is, and how the country aspires to be—a nation unafraid to confront its history and embrace the contributions of all.

Exciting news! We’ve secured support from The National Lottery Heritage Fund for our documentary project ‘Community: Becoming Black & British’! Over the next three years, we’ll unite young people and industry experts to interview their elders, preserving their stories in a documentary film. This documentary will spotlight the 1970s to 2000, a pivotal era when influential Black community organisations emerged, contributing hugely to our society. Many of these organisations have since closed, and their invaluable contributions are at risk of being forgotten. Our documentary will honour the courage and resilience of the children of the Windrush Generation. The first part of the documentary which features organisations in Westminster and Brent, received a wonderful response when it was premiered at this year’s Triangle of Unity Festival. We are looking forward to taking the initiative to Leeds, Bristol, Birmingham and Liverpool in the future. #theworldreimagined #nationalheritagelotteryfund #community

Lovely people! We have an announcement! At this year's Triangle of Unity Festival we are going to be screening this powerful testament to music and resistance: ON RESISTANCE STREET! "On Resistance Street was a two-year project, shot on location in England, Belfast and New York. It carries an original soundtrack of 20 songs which will be released as an album in 2024. The film is an in-depth examination of the role music plays in the fight against Fascism and racism. It features many renowned musicians, writers, commentators and activists including original members of Steel Pulse, Aswad, The Sex Pistols, Stiff Little Fingers, The Levellers, The Men They Couldn't Hang, Belfast Punk Godfather Terri Hooley, author and Joe Strummer biographer Chris Salewicz, Fire Brigade Union leader Matt Wrack, National Organiser of 'Stand Up To Racism' Weyman Bennett and many others” Triangle of Unity Festival of Arts and culture is a festival of collaboration between The World Reimagined, The Borough of Westminster and King's Culture. Our globes are now on the playa, ready for Burning Man. These globes take you on a journey of discovery, beginning in Africa before transatlantic slavery then highlighting the disparities it caused that still persist today. They also honour those who have excelled despite systemic oppression. The final globe in the trail dares us to dream of the world we wish to see. We can, must, and will do better—together.

At Triangle of Unity, visitors will embark on a culinary journey across the Atlantic Triangle— experiencing the flavors of Africa, the Americas, and Europe. Out of our 6 food stalls Future Plate is bringing four extraordinary chefs to the festival, each representing a unique vibrant cuisine. So let’s meet these chefs! 🔥 Opy Odutayo – An award-winning chef who has honed her craft in some of London’s most prestigious kitchens.
