🏗️ PROJECT UPDATE: Bromsgrove Care Home Our latest 72-bed care home project in Bromsgrove is progressing well. Since our last update in August, we've made significant strides. The building is now watertight with the roof and window installation completed and the scaffolding removed. In the coming weeks, our focus will be on progressing with the second floor, including fire stopping and plaster boarding, now that the first fix M&E is complete. Flooring and decoration began on the ground floor following the completion of tiling. The commercial kitchen and laundry fitouts have also commenced with the extracts and Whiterock. Internal doors, skirting boards and architraves are nearing completion on the ground and first floors, along with the two lifts. M&E works are progressing well on the ground and first floors, with most second-fix items complete. While we work on the internal fit-out, some of our site team have started external work, including building retaining walls, aco drainage, patios and forming footpaths. We will also be applying render to the ground floor walls. We’re proud to have achieved an Excellent rating in our latest Considerate Constructors Scheme assessment, a reflection of the dedication and hard work of our entire site team, including our electrical apprentice. 🏗️ PROJECT UPDATE: Lindley Care Home 🏗️  Work continues at pace on our 61-bed care home in Lindley, Huddersfield. Superstructure works are now complete up to the first-floor wall plate, with roof installation on phases one and two scheduled to begin before Christmas. Internal works, including drylining and M&E, are progressing alongside the second-floor beam and block installation. Our logistics and lifting team addressed early site constraints by installing the crane ahead of schedule, ensuring efficient and safe material movement. We’re also pleased to support the local community, with recent pallet donations benefiting a local allotment group and a Bradford-based charity’s fundraising bonfire. 👏 Employee of the Month: Chris Colbeck, Lift Supervisor, for his outstanding contributions and commitment to site safety and efficiency. 🏗️ PROJECT UPDATE: Lincoln, 73-Bed Care Home! We’re making significant strides on our project in Lincoln. Since August, our team has achieved key milestones, with M&E works nearing completion and snagging, decorating, and fit-out installations well underway. Soft flooring is now 50% complete throughout the building Installations of the commercial kitchen and laundry room are finalised, while the plant room fit-out has commenced as we prepare for commissioning the heating and domestic systems. Electrical commissioning is also progressing smoothly. Windows have been cleaned, and mastic sealants applied in readiness for the building’s air test. Soon, furniture installations will begin as we head towards our end-of-year completion target. We’re proud to have scored highly in our recent Considerate Constructors Scheme assessment, reflecting our commitment to quality and community. With one apprentice based onsite and two others visiting regularly, we’re also fostering skill development in future talent. ✨ New Project: Gateford Toll Bar✨ We’re thrilled to announce that we have secured a new residential care home project in Worksop! Our team has already hit the ground running at Gateford Toll Bar, a brand new 70-bedroom care home development that will feature a modern two-storey building complete with communal areas, beautifully landscaped gardens and associated works. Located conveniently between the main A57 and Gateford Road, just to the north of Worksop, this development is set to provide residents with a comfortable and supportive living environment. In just one week on-site, our site team has already made significant progress with ground excavations. Over the next month, we will be focused on cutting and filling groundworks, installing foundations, drainage and establishing the site welfare accommodation. We’re also excited to share that we’ll be welcoming an apprentice to the site team in the coming months, providing a hands-on experience and learning opportunity for another young person who has chosen a career in construction. We’re excited to announce that York Manor Care Home, a 73-bed luxury facility, has reached practical completion and was officially handed over last week. Another high-quality, future-ready development delivered by the Torsion Projects team! The care home was built with a focus on environmental sustainability and energy efficiency, with features that include: 👉 Air Source Heat Pumps for heating and hot water 👉 Photovoltaic panels on the roof 👉 Enhanced insulation throughout the building As a result, the home has achieved an EPC rating of A, thanks to our fabric-first approach and the use of renewable technologies. City Fields – 58 Retirement Living Apartments We’re excited to share the latest milestone at our City Fields development in Wakefield! The project is progressing well, and we’re thrilled to announce that the building is set to become watertight with the roof nearing completion. Just in time for the winter months, this will allow us to continue with the internal works, keeping us right on track. Internally, we’ve already seen great progress. The second-floor screed has been poured, partition walls are up on the ground and first floors, and first fix M&E installations are complete on both levels. On the lower ground floor, plastering has begun, marking another step forward. We’re also proud to see our commitment to training in action, with an apprentice plumber and roofer gaining hands-on experience on-site. In keeping with our high standards, the project recently scored 43 on the Considerate Constructors Scheme, showcasing our dedication to best practices and responsible construction. Looking ahead, over the next four weeks, we’ll see plastering progress and second fix works begin. By mid-October, scaffold removal and the start of external works will bring the project into its final phases.
