Shoutout to the Truant crew out in China! 🇨🇳 We were in Shanghai recently, working on an amazing project with an even better team. It's always a pleasure to work in new spaces, listening and learning with new faces ✨ More on this coming soon 👀
Taking our business into new markets is always fascinating. Last week we had the pleasure of working with a team on a project in Shanghai, my first visit to China and the first time Truant had been engaged in the region. More to come on this, but it was for me a timely reminder of the importance of spending time with people, face to face, listening and learning, and that there are far more things that we have in common than not, despite what we’re often told. Shanghai, thanks for the hospitality.

Here's why the fragrance industry is booming 👇 The industry will hit $47.6 billion by 2027. Thats a 45% rise since the pandemic 📈 So what’s driving this surge? 🤔 Our need for individuality is growing, and fragrances are mirroring this by becoming more niche and specific themselves. I mean, take a look at the title for this maison millais perfume (yes it does somehow smell exactly like that) ✨ Platforms like TikTok are opening younger generations up to unique scents, while brands like Noted. Aromas make luxury fragrance smells accessible with affordable alternatives 👏 Want to know how else the fragrance market is evolving? The best Christmas ads could run in June. Every year, brands get caught up in a game of who can out-Christmas the other. According to our Creatives Ben Parmenter & Keilan Grant, "the best ads don’t waterboard you with cliche sparkle and joy, they forget the stereotypes altogether." Take JD Sports Fashion's new ad, or Etsy's Where's Waldo story. Even Waitrose & Partners have gone easy on the Christmas cheer this year, opting for a great whodunnit storyline instead. Read the full article for the full scoop 👇 Amazing work Ben Parmenter & Keilan Grant and thanks to Creativebrief for the feature ✨

Why do so many brand collaborations with creators fail? 🤔 Because they are are missing these 2 key elements: 👂They don’t LISTEN to the creators needs ✋ They don’t TRUST the creator to take the lead When a creator doesn’t have the freedom to talk to their community how they normally would, their message becomes tainted and loses it’s effect. Our latest Scenes guest, Charlie Dark MBE, spoke about why his partnership with lululemon allows him to keep his voice, benefiting both parties. Brands, trust your creators! WW1 ended 106 years ago. All we have from these times are grainy photos and written letters. That means for many, it's hard to relate to what life was really like back then. We set out to change that. With our 'Text From The Trenches' campaign, we adapted real wartime letters into text messages to bring these historic memories closer to today's generation 🤍 Huge big up to the brilliant minds behind this project - Charlie Lindsay and 👽 George Bartlett 👽 #remembrancesunday #remembranceday

Brands, what's the most important thing about collaboration? 🤔 According to Charlie Dark MBE, there’s one key to success when collaborating with smaller communities: ➡️ Helping them achieve what they can’t by themselves. If you’re able to do this, you'll have a sustainable collaboration, as well as the trust of a whole new audience. ___ Found this helpful? 🎧 Listen to the full ‘Scenes’ episode with Charlie Dark MBE 📖 Read ‘Uncltrd’, our monthly culture newsletter 🔗 Links to everything in the comments
