  • As we welcome 2025, we reflect on 2024 with immense gratitude for the unwavering support from our donors, partners, and community. Together, we’ve made a difference in the lives of women and children experiencing domestic abuse. However, the fight is far from over. In 2024, 1 in 4 women globally continued to face violence in their lifetime, and reports of domestic abuse surged in many regions. These numbers are more than statistics – they are lives impacted, futures disrupted, and communities affected. In 2025, we are committed to driving meaningful change. This year, we aim to: ✅ Advocate for stronger policies to protect women and children ✅ Expand our outreach and support programs ✅ Amplify awareness to end the cycle of abuse We invite everyone to join us in creating a world where violence against women is no longer a reality. Thank you for being a part of our journey — together, let’s make 2025 a year of progress, hope, and change. #NewYear2025 #EndViolenceAgainstWomen #DomesticAbuseAwareness #Advocacy #TogetherForChange

  • Christmas has come and gone, but the harsh reality is that domestic abuse doesn't stop when the holidays end. Did you know that 1 in 4 women in the UK experience domestic abuse at some point in their lives? Many survivors continue to face long-lasting challenges like trauma, anxiety, and PTSD, well into the new year and beyond. That's why we're reminding you that there's still time to make a difference. Our Christmas Campaign continues for a few more days, and we're working hard to reach our goal to fund a wellbeing programme for women and children escaping domestic abuse. Here’s how you can still get involved: ✅ Donate: every contribution brings us closer to our goal. ✅ Spread the word: share this post with your network. ✅ Partner with us to make a lasting impact. • This Christmas, we’re reaching out to professionals, local businesses, and community leaders to join us in making a life-changing impact. Our Christmas Campaign is dedicated to raising funds for a vital wellbeing programme for women and children who have fled domestic abuse. Trauma from abuse doesn’t just affect one person — it ripples through families, deeply impacting both mothers and their children. A mother’s mental health and wellbeing play a critical role in her child’s recovery and sense of security. By supporting our wellbeing programme, you’re not just helping women heal from the scars of abuse — you’re also giving their children a chance to thrive, grow, and experience the love and stability every child deserves. We can’t do this without you. Here’s how you can help: ✅ Donate: Every contribution brings us closer to funding this essential programme. ✅ Spread the Word: Share our campaign in your workplace or community. ✅ Host a Fundraiser: Partner with us to create even greater impact. Your support could be the gift that transforms lives this Christmas. 📩 Message us or visit https://lnkd.in/ewqjpUuu to learn more and get involved. Together, let’s give the gift of healing and hope. ❤️

  • The impact of domestic abuse goes far beyond the surface – it affects the mind, body, and sense of connection. 💔 🧠 Mental Health: Survivors often face anxiety, depression, and PTSD, making healing an uphill battle. 💪 Physical Health: The effects of chronic stress and physical injuries can last long after the abuse ends. 🤝 Social Wellbeing: Isolation, distrust, and stigma leave many survivors feeling alone and disconnected. This Christmas, we're raising money to fund a wellbeing programme to help women recover and rebuild their lives. Together, we can provide the support they need to heal and thrive. 🎄 Donate or share today: https://lnkd.in/eMqEPDHd #christmascampaign #mentalhealth #supportwomen #charity #fundraising #Christmas #campaign #luton

  • Almost 2 million people in England and Wales are impacted by domestic abuse each year… 70% of victims and survivors are women... At Women’s Aid in Luton this festive time, we would like to raise £4,000 towards delivering a well-being programme for women and children who have fled domestic abuse. 💭💡 Situations of violence, emotional abuse, and coercive control often lead to the women we support developing complex mental health problems, such as PTSD or anxiety. Our well-being programme is essential in supporting women’s healing process and ensuring they have the best chance of recovering from the trauma that they have endured. Through our well-being programme, we hope that women and children will be able to reclaim their voice and live a life free from harm. 🗣🥰 The women and children we support deserve peace of mind not just over the festive season but always. 🎄✨️ Please consider donating and sharing. You can donate scanning the QR code or clicking on the link below. Thank you so much for your support! ❤️ Link to donate: https://lnkd.in/eMqEPDHd #donate #christmas #christmascampaign #fundraising #charity #domesticabuse #mentalhealth

  • On Friday 29th November 2024, we joined forces with BDAP at a powerful event in Luton Point highlighting the urgent need to end gender-based violence against women and girls as part of the #16DaysOfActivism. Together, we honoured the lives of 119 women who have tragically lost their lives to male violence since September 2023 by reading their names aloud — a poignant reminder of why this fight matters. As part of the event, we created a moving display in collaboration with the University of Bedfordshire fashion students featuring dresses and clothing adorned with powerful words from women, amplifying their voices and stories. Thank you to everyone who joined, supported, and stood in solidarity with us. For those who haven’t yet seen it, our display will remain up until December 4th. We encourage you to visit, reflect, and continue the conversation. Together, we can make change happen. 💪🗣

  • The 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence is here, and we need your voice to raise awareness. 📢🗣 As a charity working every day to support women and families impacted by domestic abuse, we see the devastating effects of gender-based violence firsthand. 1 in 3 women worldwide will experience physical or sexual violence in their lifetime — this is a crisis we cannot ignore. Countless women are living in fear, often with no safe place to turn. Only 1 in 10 survivors seek help, many fearing judgement or lack of support. But there is hope. Every action, no matter how small, contributes to creating a safer world for women and girls.💡 This year, during the 16 Days of Activism (November 25 - December 10), we are calling on YOU to stand with survivors and speak out against abuse. Your support helps us advocate for stronger policies to protect victims. Together, we can break the silence, challenge harmful norms, and show survivors that they are not alone. 💪🧡 Every woman and girl deserves to feel safe, let's help make that a reality. ❤️ #16daysofactivism #enddomesticviolence #endgenderbasedviolence #supportsurvivors #domesticabuseawareness
