Wrightbus will utilise Cummins Inc. in our StreetDeck #Ultroliner diesel double-decker for the first time, in our next-generation variant of that model which will be an Ultra-Low Emission Bus accredited by Zemo Partnership   We are thrilled that the first of these buses are to be supplied to Isle of Man operator #BusVannin who have ordered 5 StreetDeck Ultroliners   This latest Cummins engine platform opens the latest-generation StreetDeck Ultroliner to potential mid-life repower to zero-emission - such as switching the diesel engine for a Cummins hydrogen internal combustion engine, or to a battery electric powertrain through our NewPower UK business.   Bus Vannin Director Ian Bates describes this order as “a progressive step forward in a known technology, the internal combustion engine, while continuing to take into account the Isle of Man Government’s Island Plan and commitments to climate change” and a controlled approach allowing the operator “to see how the network will look in the future, enabling an insight into possible hydrogen options alongside electrification.”   Wrightbus CEO Jean-Marc Gales highlighted the importance of our  “blended approach of responsible technologies; battery-electric, hydrogen fuel cell, and the cleanest diesel to ensure all our customers can continue to decarbonise as quickly as possible, while still maintaining financially viable operations…. We are extremely proud to introduce our Wrightbus Mental Health First Aiders, who are now in place to offer essential support for the well-being of all our employees. Our goal is to foster a workplace culture where mental health is prioritised and openly supported. In total 14 employees have now successfully completed an independent mental health first aiding course and are now available to everyone across the company to access trained support and early intervention and sign posting for mental health challenges. Just like First Aid can be the first line of help offered to people experiencing a physical health issue, Mental Health First Aid is given to someone experiencing a mental health problem before professional health is obtained. Wrightbus Mental Health First Aiders will be able to assist with: •     Dealing with crisis situations •     Recognising the signs and symptoms of common mental health problems including depression, anxiety disorders, psychosis and substance use disorders •     Signposting here and how to get help •     Self-help strategies A big thank you to our colleagues who have completed the training - your commitment to supporting the well-being of others is invaluable and we know it will help to create a compassionate, supportive and open environment for us all. This initiative reflects our commitment to being a company that truly cares about the well-being of our employees, working to remove stigma and ensure that mental health is recognised, supported and prioritised every step of the way. We were delighted to welcome a group from the Global Innovation Summit, hosted by Queen's University Belfast and GFCC | The Global Federation of Competitiveness Councils, to Wrightbus last week. Under the theme Accelerating Global Sustainability and Economic Inclusion, the Summit was exploring the connections between economic performance, social inclusion, and environmental protection, shedding light on how to balance immediate needs and long-term sustainability goals. At the end of the 5 day summit, this group of leaders from around the globe visited our factory to hear more about our leading work in the decarbonisation of public transport, the growth of the company and our plans for the future as we move towards a more sustainable world. The Wrightbus drive to a greener future is heading to #Germany! We are very proud to have delivered 31 hydrogen fuel cell Kite #Hydroliners to Regionalverkehr Köln GmbH. We are delighted to have partnered with #RVK to bring our very first buses to Germany. Now in their depot, RVK will be briefing driving instructors and dispatchers, focusing on the technical aspects of the Kite Hydroliners. Drivers will undergo comprehensive training to ensure smooth operation and safety, and the new buses themselves are undergoing rigorous road tests before they start taking passengers.
