  • Paving the way for philanthropy at Queen’s. Former Queen’s University Vice-Chancellor, and one of the founding members of the Queen’s Foundation Board, Professor Sir George Bain, reflects on the importance of philanthropy to universities, the inspiration behind the Queen’s Foundation and the impact it continues to have on Queen’s. “Philanthropy is important to education because it provides essential funding for student programmes and is an accelerant for funding university priorities. It allows alumni to stay involved, give back, and add to the countless alumni imprints that create immense pride for the Queen’s community today.” (Professor Sir George Bain) #LoveQUB #QF25 #Philanthropy #HigherEducation #QueensFoundation | Queen's University Belfast

  • Seven decades of Queen’s alumni connect in London “It’s so lovely to re-connect with people from home. Being in London, it’s great that you’re surrounded by people from around the world, but I guess it’s a bit special sometimes when you connect with people you have something in common with, people who went to the same University as you.” Leah Tohill, Managing Consultant with First Derivative. Queen’s graduates from 1964 to 2024 gathered in London for a gala dinner that marked the latest stage in the expansion of the University’s alumni network in the city. Find out what our graduates had to say about staying #connectedtoQueens https://lnkd.in/e-Z2qkhX Eddie Friel | David Tubman | Bogdan Golumbeanu | Tom Charlick | Louise Cook

  • Keeping memories alive through scholarships Former UK Young Engineer of the Year 2015 and Mechanical Engineering student at Queen’s, Colum McNally, was an inspirational young man. Despite being diagnosed with a rare form of cancer, he completed his A-levels and started studying at Queen’s. He tragically died in his first year. Established by the DLD Fund in his honour, the Colum McNally Scholarships support Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering students at Queen’s. We were delighted to congratulate the 2024-25 recipients Jessica Rouke, Aoife Greenan, and Ross Cunningham at a heartwarming prize giving ceremony at Queen’s with the McNally and O’Neill families.
