Tianhai Sixi Hotel (Jiujiang Liansheng Happy City International Convention and Exhibition Center)

Shili Avenue Business Circle
I had mixed feelings about my stay at this hotel. Starting off with the positive things: 1) they were essential one of only 2 places in the City of Jiujiang that would accommodate foreigners during the pandemic. My green arrow code had an asterisks, since I was in Shenzhen within the past 14 days which had a few cases at the time. This made it hard for me to find a place to stay. 2) The location is ok, away from city center but close to an indoor hot bath spa facility. This was the highlight of my stay. 3) wifi was fairly solid, hot water for showering was available, they offered free cleaning service for my dirty clothes, free hot beverages at the lobby and a nice lounge with a ping pong table on the 5th floor. Now regarding the cons: 1) the landline telephone from my room wasn't working to help me place calls. I tried to reach out to reception to talk about issues, but I couldn't get them on the line. This meant I had to physically go down to the lobby level and communicate my concerns. No problems receiving calls though. 2) The elevator reeked of a strong revolting cigarette stench. Despite there clearly being a no smoking sign in the machine, cetain patrons outright disregarded the rules and did as they pleased. Hotel personnel don't even bother to confront such individuals, which is very upsetting to non-smokers like me. Rather than making an effort to create a healthier and cleaner environment for everyone, the administration prefers to turn a blind eye to such activities, since they fear backlash from such clients and potential loss of revenues from them. This is a major societal issue, but I believe that it will get solved gradually as time goes by and the younger generation gets better educated. I resorted to taking the rear stairwell as an alternative instead. 3) my room key stopped working abruptly on several occasions, hence I had to solicit the cleaning ladies to help open my room door. Furthermore, I eventually lost that room key, and when I went to tell the receptionist what happened, they gave me a new room key but told me I must pay 50¥ (a third of my nightly room rate) as a replacement fee at checkout. Needless to say, I thought it was inappropriate for them to ask for that much money. Most major hotel chains would happily give a new room key for free. 4) the majority of food options in their breakfast buffet were saturated with either added sugar or oil. 5) ************ cards were regularly thrown underneath my room door. It's supposed to be illegal to solicit such services, but its rampant and openly done with no efficient crackdown. This is another thing the hotel administration could do to improve its protocols. *Most of the days I spent in Jiujiang were plagued with torrential rain. Obviously this is beyond human control, so I'm not blaming anybody for this. It made my stay in the city unfortunately less pleasant, as I didn't even once get to see a blue sky with a sun. Overall I would give this place a 7/10 Recommended, but if you are a foreigner then be aware of the aforementioned details. Nobody spoke English, which was to be expected. Be prepared to speak the country's official language if you want to get around in Jiujiang! 😁

Disappointing stay here. We had no choice but to extend our stay because it was Chinese new year and very difficult to find another place to stay and also my husband was sick so we had to change our plans and stay an extra night so he could rest. The place smelled like smoke everywhere. We have a baby with us and wanted a smoke free place. Despite the signs in the lobby saying No Smoking, people were smoking there and the front desk people didn’t care. The towels in our room had ashes on them and smelled like smoke. They were also ripped and badly needed to be replaced. (We got a smoke free room and learned on our trip that all they do for smoke free rooms is open the windows to air it out before you arrive. 🤦🏻♀️) There was insufficient toilet paper when we arrived and although they did provide more when we asked it was just inconvenient. The toilet paper holder was broken so we had to find somewhere else to put the roll of toilet paper. The sink leaked and it was supposed to be a dry washroom which is one of the reasons why I booked the place but turned out to be a wet washroom. Incredibly inconvenient with a baby. The shower drainage was missing a cover and it didn’t feel safe for my child when showering because her little feet could get stuck inside it. One of the days we needed to rest a little longer and the housekeeper asked us when we were leaving so she could clean our room. We said we needed 2 more hours (around 2pm) she kept trying to peer inside our room and said she wanted to get off work early. I found that incredibly rude. I understand it’s CNY and you want to go home early but that’s not something you should say to a guest who paid to stay at the hotel. Front desk people also did not seem friendly. Never saw any of them smile. We obviously don’t speak Chinese fluently and they laughed at us when they couldn’t understand us and wasn’t helpful in any way. Overall, not a very pleasant stay. Would not stay here again.

The B&B has a beautiful environment and the owner is warm and friendly. I stayed here for one night and felt the thoughtful service of the store. The B&B is very close to the commercial street and parking is convenient. The room facilities are relatively new and clean. When going to the scenic spot, the owner picked up and dropped off by car, 5-star service. A very good B&B, I look forward to the owner's expansion and strength, and I will have the opportunity to come to Wangxian Valley again in the future!

Advantages: first-class view, very close to the attractions, the room is large, the little brother upgraded the room for us, and also presented breakfast coupons, there is a Dyson hair dryer. Disadvantages: There are fewer restaurants around, no elevator, the room lacks a towel rod, the glass between the toilet and the shower is transparent, it is not convenient for two people to use at the same time, and there is no hygiene on the day of the stay.

This homestay really exceeded my expectations. The warm atmosphere and thoughtful service made me feel very cordial. Unexpectedly, I picked up mushrooms 🍄 next to the entrance mountain, which made me very happy. The room is very distinctive, and every corner is full of unique style and artistic atmosphere. The blue mosaic-inlaid swimming pool is particularly clean. Moreover, the homestay meals are also very homely and delicious, and affordable. The location is also great, and there are 2 free tickets to the scenic spot. The Guifeng Danxia landscape is right next door, which makes people sigh at the uncanny workmanship of nature. Highly recommended!

Very modern and superb facilities. Very reasonable price indeed considering the extremely high quality of the rooms and of the excellent service. Although the staff are not fluent in English, they use translation sofrware to supplement their English language knowledge and the staff are extremely helpful. The note that I sent to the staff thanking them says it all (see below). I highly recommend this hotel! “Dear Lucas and colleagues at Jinjiang Capital: first of all, once again Lucas, I would like to thank you very much for your help in getting me some warm clothes to deal with the extremely cold weather in Nanchang. Your assistance went beyond the call of duty and I admire and respect you and the dedication you have to your work. Additionally, I would like to thank all the staff there who have made a special effort to help me, in the context of my failure to learn Chinese language to any decent degree. Last night and this morning colleagues helped me with getting a taxi to catch my train, making sure that all things were in place to make it easy for me. The colleague who went with me to Floor 1 assisted in making sure that the taxi was going to the correct railway station. I would like to also express my gratitude to those colleagues. … Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.”

Meiling Scenic Aera
We drove 8 hours to get here with our two dogs. We were the only guests staying that night. The landlady upgraded the room for free and cooked ginger, red dates and pear soup for us in the evening. The room is very new and clean, and the corridor is close to the mountainside vegetation. This is a hotel that has been completely renovated from an ancient village. It has food, accommodation and transportation. This hotel is at the highest point of the village. From the balcony of the room, you can see the courtyards and different rooftops of the houses below. The landlady asked us to put down our luggage and go to the top of Meiling to see the freezing rain. It was really worth the 8-hour drive. Unfortunately, most of the photos are on the camera and can only be taken after the trip. If you take your pets out, or if you like a quiet environment and hiking, I really recommend this place!

Flower B&B facilities are good, the environment is clean, tidy and comfortable, and the health service is 100 💯 points. The boss and his family are super good. The car picks up the car and helps with the luggage. The food is delicious. It is the best meal I have eaten this week. The boss also gave the dishes and found the feeling of home! All-round full score experience! First choice for homestay! Next time you come, you must stay a few more days! The door is a stream! Can't bear to go to a series of homestays! The experience is great 🎉🎈🎊🍾️ very satisfied

Owner is super nice. Added me to WeChat and answered my thousands of questions. Views were spectacular and the shower was decent and had hot water. Unfortunately toilets are in the nearby hotel and they weren't the best.. just brush your teeth and wash your face in the outdoor sinks. The room Aircon machines weren't turned on but the air was quite cool. Only downside is that the pods are quite close together so when you open one window it blocks the window of the other pods and vice versa. Many times our windows got closed because our neighbors pushed ours to open theirs. Then we can't open the window from the inside and have to go outside the pod to open the window. The area has nice lighting at night but also wish at one point the lights would turn off so we could see the stars more clearly. A very great experience to sleep in the mountains. Also the owners make very good food here! Definitely one of the better meals and nothing beats eating delicious food while overlooking the mountains.

I forgot to comment earlier, but I just suddenly remembered that I booked a temporary hotel by mistake in Sanbao Village, which is an internet celebrity attraction. Because there are traffic restrictions outside on May Day, cars are not allowed to enter. It doesn’t matter if we live inside. We can walk all the way. There are public electric cars that can be rented not far outside. The transportation is super convenient. On holidays, there are also sightseeing cars at the scenic spots for free. The B&B is actually like a single-family villa + garden. The room is very clean. If you have time outside, you can actually live a slow life with your friends, blow in the wind, and chat. There are swings, stone benches, etc. in the garden. The staff are also very considerate and will contact you in advance. They can help you if you need anything. It’s really nice to stay here in time for May Day~
