2-Star Hotels in Phuket Province, Thailand

The various negative points I would like to raise are the following. 1. We had to stay 3 nights in this hotel (no reservation had been made before) and I've made the mistake to pay the entire stay instead of setting up day by day (We had 2 rooms because the hotel does not have a large room. The second day we decided to leave, but the director refused to pay us back the third night. 2. The deposit is too high because it is equivalent to the price of one night. 3. The hotel does not offer breakfast, even in addition. 4. There is no private parking in the hotel. You need to park in the street or use the paying parking at 50 Baths/night. 5. One of the 2 headlights didn't work. 6. The shower flexible was deteriorated, and it was a water spark in all directions. 7. Unable to correctly adjust the water temperature of the shower: either cold or burning. 8. The hotel does not have lift. 9. The rooms side street are very noisy from 6 a.m. due to the market in front of the hotel. 10. The Wi-Fi is mineable. 11. Friendly ”au ras des pâtérettes”.

The staff were generally friendly and welcoming, contributing to a positive initial impression. However, one aspect that stood out was the somewhat lacking amenities. While the hotel exuded a quaint charm, it fell short in terms of modern conveniences. The absence of certain amenities that are considered standard in many hotels left a noticeable gap in the overall guest experience. For instance, the fitness center was minimal, and the Wi-Fi connection was inconsistent, making it challenging for guests who rely on a reliable internet connection. Cleanliness, another crucial aspect of any accommodation, was also a concern. Although the rooms had a rustic appeal, I couldn't help but notice that certain areas were not as well-maintained as expected. The attention to detail in cleaning seemed lacking, and this detracted from the overall comfort of the stay. It's essential for a boutique hotel to prioritize cleanliness to ensure guests feel at ease during their visit.

There are two reason I won't come back to this location. One is the yellow tinge in the water. It's the color of weak urine, but has no smell. Probably due to rusty pipes in the building. You can see it in the toilet bowl, and in the sink if you fill it up with water. They need to fix that. Not the funnest to shower in, let alone brush your teeth with. The other reason is the bed mattress, though it looks like a full-height mattress, it only has about 3 inches of foam on top. After about an hour of laying on it I felt my tailbone starting to get sore. I actually used the second pillow to laid it lengthways under my pelvis and lower back to buffer the sore points. Other cons, dirty/dusty in some spots, some cobwebs higher-up in the wall corners Quite a number of those small flies are found around the room. Here are the good points... No musty smell Spacious room with high ceiling Clean sheets, pillow cases and towels I'm fine with the ”constructionist” look Probably one of the cheapest rates in Phuket town for a private room Front desk service was professional.

Very good. The bed is clean. Everything is clean. The air conditioner is very cool. If you come alone, I recommend this place. There aren't many Thais. Mostly foreigners, but everyone is very nice. There is a kitchen for you to sit and eat.

The room is very spacious. The bathroom is also spacious and clean. The staffs are attentive and smiling. They also provide free toast. I like it very much. If I have a chance, I will definitely go again.

Pros: It’s a walking distance to Simon Cabaret,markets and Patong Beach. The room I rented for a price of 2 costs 900+ pesos which is a good deal for a night. The receptionist in the morning is really kind and helpful while the one in the afternoon is also approachable. Cons: There is not lift in this poshtel that we had to go until the 3rd floor with our luggages. The smell of the room and toilet are like those pesticides/insecticides. The rooms are not soundproof that it was so noisy at night. (There were like guys beside our room who made so much noise at 2am and they would even throw the door.) The bathroom looks clean but since the smell affects the cleanliness and also the shampoo/body soap were not labelled. Summary: In total,it wasn’t really a good experience to stay due to smell,noise and limited space.

The location and the place was clean. The only amenity that they provided was tissue paper in the room and bathroom. No phone in the room to contact reception. If you want hair dryer, you have to go to reception and ask for it. There were termites in the room and on the bed. With the same price range, you can get a better place.

Baba House is an excellent location for guests to access Jonker street and other central sites in Melaka. I'm honestly quite disappointed at a few things. I found some front office/reception staff not very welcoming. I recommend management train them to smile more and when it is not peak, at night, for example to say good evening or at least acknowledge guests. At low peak hour walkabout vs sitting on the reception stool, say hello. We stayed in a room for 3 and it was so spacious. We wondered why the hotel doesn't add a couch or a small seating space. There was more floor space than comfort. Do something so you can charge more for the room vs leaving so much space for guests to do cartwheels in? While I respect that weekends are peak hour. Prepare. We had to ask housekeeping to clean our room when we returned at 4pm. When we ask for water, it was not sent to us. When we asked for water at the hall from housekeeping they said they cannot give more out. The weather is so hot, come up with a solution to give guests water. This isn't acceptable. Management may want to look into the smell perhaps coming from sewage or drain. It is quite strong at the lobby and on our level during the day. Checkout was efficient and we appreciate the complimentary drinks. Having said that, staff at the guest parking area, restaurant and housekeeping are friendly and take the time to smile and acknowledge guests. Thank goodness for that, we are afterall on a holiday.

We booked three king-size bed rooms at one time, and two people stayed in one room. To be honest, the bed was big enough for three adults. The boss and service staff were warm-hearted and greeted us with a smile every day. The boss was Chinese and very friendly to his compatriots. He had the ”Phuket Travel Secrets” in his hand, so there was no need for us to make a strategy. We could just find the boss to help us get it done at once. The location of the inn is very good, and the ”20-minute walking circle” makes you feel very comfortable. There is a 711 (just at the street corner) three minutes away from the door, and there is a local food stall next to it (cheap, authentic Thai local taste). It takes only 20 minutes to walk to Patong Walking Street and Patong Beach, and no more than 15 minutes to walk to Simon ** Show, Adult Show, Muay Thai Gym, Jiangxi Cold, BIG C, Banzaan Seafood Market (turn right at the street corner), and Food Night Market (turn left at the street corner). Are you tempted? Action is worse than thought, hahahaha… A suggestion: add one or two more mattress pads under the mattress, and it will be almost the same as sleeping in a local four-star hotel; renovate the TV cabinet, add toothpaste and toothbrush, and it will be the cheapest in the area if it is sold for 260+.
