Ahead of this year's Met Gala (and Cooper's imminent arrival), we’ve taken a sartorial trip down memory lane. His top looks? The ranking starts here... The past year has been rather big for Bradley Cooper. That’s mainly down to his leading role in A Star Is Born – the recent romance drama featuring Lady Gaga that is set to fly high at tomorrow’s Golden Globes. Cooper plays seasoned musician Jackson Maine in the movie – sporting wild, rugged hair and casual, grungy clothes that set his strong rock star image. So, in cinema, Bradley’s style is synonymous with song. But in life he frequently goes for gold in suited staples that continually serve him well. Ahead of this year’s Met Gala (and Cooper’s imminent arrival), we’ve sourced his top tailored looks to date. Smart and sophisticated at all times – prepare to take a tip from his dapper outfits this weekend...

Corduroy calling? Yes for Mr Cooper, who opted to style a rich blue suit by Brunello Cucinelli for the 66th San Sebastian Film Festival back in September. Always a stylist of the staples, Bradley’s navy love affair was affirmed here, paired with a simple white shirt and suede lace-up brogues. Texture expertise? Most definitely, and with the swarming crowds, it’s clearly working. Top tip to take? Embrace this material nod to the Seventies through a contemporary stance like Cooper.

Always an admirer of classic ensembles, Cooper’s arrival to the 19th Shanghai International Film Festival was eye catching, to say the least. For what reason? His mastery of the smart and simple suit – head to toe black with a waistcoat and tie. Why such simplicity? Because Bradley’s a man who means business and styling a strong ensemble only serves to heighten his well-deserved credits on the Hollywood scene. How to master the look like the actor? Stick to a precise fit, keep the pocket levels interesting and on the grooming side, slicked back hair is a winner.

Cooper’s winning waistcoat saga continues! But in a rarer form – experimenting away from darker tones, his arrival to the UK premiere of A Star Is Born unveiled a finely checked red and green ensemble. Star style? It’s certainly in our top tailored looks for the actor, given the perfectly turned hem on his trousers and casual unbuttoned shirt that speaks of his comfortability with clothing. Test the look out for yourself – heritage dominated, of course – and you’ll be feeling stylish and intellectual alike.

Serving a straight-cut suit? Bradley agrees, keeping it slim and sleek to the New York premiere of Burnt in 2015. As for his layering pieces, a polka-dot shirt worked well when injected discreetly beneath an emerald green printed tie. Playing with proportions? Yes – and succeeding in that matter too. How to re-create the look? Drakes offers a great selection of similar ties and shirts that, styled with a monochrome two-piece, are sure to catch the right kind of attention. Bravo, Bradley!

Cooper’s 2015 appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live saw him dressed in a traditional tweed suit. Want to make things subtly interesting? Like Bradley, opt for a patterned tie. Nothing too dramatic, though – if there’s one thing we can take from Bradley’s event attire, it’s that earthy tones always work best. So if you’re re-creating number three here, compliment your khaki-coloured suit with warm chestnut injections via neck accessories.

Brave the bow tie? It’s a yes from Bradley, who frequently finishes his suits off with simple yet sophisticated ribbons of fabric. Formal all the way, this was Cooper’s leading look to the world premiere of his latest leading movie – A Star Is Born – during the 75th Venice Film Festival. It has scored him centre stage in our ranking – mostly down to his cool suit shawl collar and brilliant patent-finished shoes. His star status stands strong!

The Oscars are the biggest night in film. in fact, the Oscars are perhaps the biggest awards ceremony across the board. With that in mind, when it comes to dressing for the night there is no time for any funny stuff. Cooper knows this and donned his best black tie, looking like an Oscar winner in the process.

An outmoded belief is that black and blue shouldn't be paired together. Well, Bradley Cooper has gone and proven that wrong. Attending the 30th Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival Film Awards Gala, he demonstrated how to do it right – keep everything to black and blue (and a white shirt) and it will work for you.
- 9/10
This is couple dressing at its finest. Attending the Golden Globes, where Cooper was up for a gong, the A-list couple got it just right. What was so great? They stuck to a colour palette that complimented one another, with neither Irina Shayk or Cooper outshining the other. A win.

First place in Cooper’s top tailoring? It’s got to be his GQ cover feature back in April 2013. Styled by Allan Kennedy, Bradley sported a Prada overcoat, John Varvatos waistcoat, Boss suit and IWC watch. And quite frankly, this is fine tuning right down to his signature style – dapper that’s done right. Self assured and box-office certified, our top tip to achieve Bradley’s sartorial brilliance is simple: don’t shy away from layers of well-constructed staples. The death of the dandy is seeming pretty much impossible, as far as Bradley is concerned – he understands good quality clothing and has mastered the art of the gentleman appearance.
