This week we’re celebrating the remarkable female educators and leaders in AI for Education's Women in AI + Education community who are working across the globe to advance responsible AI adoption in education.
From K-12 teachers thoughtfully introducing AI literacy in their classrooms to nonprofit leaders building sustainable programs for their communities, these women are doing the essential frontline work. Their efforts showcase the powerful impact of educators who are rolling up their sleeves and leading responsible AI adoption from the ground up, one classroom, one project, and one student at a time.
Today we are highlighting K-12 educators and leaders, including:
• Leaders and teachers developing district-wide AI guidelines and handbooks, rolling out comprehensive literacy initiatives that engage both educators and students
• District technology leaders implementing evaluation frameworks that ensure AI tools meet standards for reliability, efficacy, safety, and ethical use
• School counselors creating AI literacy programs beyond traditional teaching and learning, focusing on social-emotional development and supporting neurodiverse students
• Instructional coaches providing hands-on support to teachers as they identify how to start integrating AI ethically and creatively into their practice
• Educators creating AI curricula and courses that tackle critical issues like bias, misinformation, and academic integrity
• Rural education advocates building customized AI toolboxes to support underserved areas
We are constantly blown away by how our community comes together and the work they are doing to make a meaningful difference in responsible ai adoption in their unique contexts.
You can find a link in the comments for the full list and contributions and how to sign up to be part of the community.
And look out for tomorrow's post, where we’ll be spotlighting community members from higher education!
