🦾 Raising the bar at the Munitions Lift Rodeo! Yesterday, AFGSC deputy commander Lt. Gen. Michael J. Lutton and key leaders from the Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center, the Support Equipment and Vehicles Modernization Division of the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center, the Aircraft Armament Systems career field, and multiple other Department of the Air Force (DAF) agencies received a demonstration of a robotic arm by RISE Robotics, as part of AFGSC's multi-day Munitions Lift Rodeo at Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana. The demonstration of the munitions handling robotic arm during the Munitions Lift Rodeo is one of many examples of how AFGSC and the entire DAF are leveraging small business contracts to modernize technology and solve current munitions problems by replacing aging technology with modern solutions that are easier to maintain, have more fidelity of control, and are fully electric. Bomber Task Force 25-1 ✈️🌍💪 #BTF 25-1 showcased the U.S. commitment to maintaining a persistent strategic bomber presence in the Euro-Atlantic region, strengthening interoperability and unity among NATO Allies and partner nations. During the deployment, the 20th Expeditionary Bomb Squadron conducted joint training with multiple Allies and partners, including the United Kingdom 🇬🇧, Sweden 🇸🇪, France 🇫🇷, Lithuania 🇱🇹, Norway 🇳🇴, Finland 🇫🇮, Italy 🇮🇹, Czech Republic 🇨🇿 and Morocco 🇲🇦. 📣 Ellsworth Update! 📣 Starting this month, expect to see the first B-1B from Ellsworth Air Force Base arrive at Grand Forks Air Force Base as part of the temporary movement of 17 B-1B Lancers and 800 Airmen from Ellsworth AFB to Grand Forks AFB. With Ellsworth set to be the first base to receive the new, next generation bomber – the B-21 Raider – the temporary relocation allows Ellsworth to complete a runway construction project as part of the base’s preparations for its arrival. Team Ellsworth will continue to support home station taskings out of Grand Forks AFB during their relocation, which is expected to last about 10 months. On Oct. 16, B-2 Spirit long-range bombers from Whiteman Air Force Base, Missouri, conducted precision strikes against five hardened underground weapons storage locations in Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen.
