📢 Apply for Access to research infrastructure: https://lnkd.in/eQnWxaa7 *️⃣ Today’s FAQ: According to the criteria, equipment costs, sample analysis costs and other costs are not included, does this mean that we would need to ask for matched funding from our institutions/universities? Answer 🗣️ 🔷 AQUARIUS funds access to research infrastructure for research scientists working in marine and freshwater domains from academia, industry, public bodies and civil society organisations; 🔷 AQUARIUS cannot fund the research, sample or data analysis that takes place after the use of the research infrastructure; 🔷 AQUARIUS research infrastructure catalogue includes experimental facilities, e.g., laboratories and data services that can support analysis; 🔷 AQUARIUS provides support and training to use the infrastructure and make your data openly available; 🔷 If applicants want to bring their own equipment, AQUARIUS can support shipping it to and from the infrastructure that it’s being used from 📌 In a nutshell: Applicants do not need to “match” funding from institutions/universities but they do need to be able to fund their time, post-access analysis and write-up. 🔔 Featured RI: Unmanned Surface Vehicle Adhemar operated by VLIZ - Flanders Marine Institute Get all relevant information about this research infrastructure here: https://lnkd.in/ebRnmFCx 📅 Apply to our call before the 20th of January 2025 and get access to the top research infrastructures in Europe to take your research to the next level! https://lnkd.in/eQnWxaa7 #Funding #Apply #EUGreenDeal #Research #HorizonEU #EUMissionOcean Marine Institute Finnish Meteorological Institute CSIC Hellenic Centre for Marine Research (HCMR) Institute of Marine Research (IMR), Norway Grønlands Naturinstitut Helmholtz-Zentrum Hereon Alfred Wegener Institute, Helmholtz Centre for Polar and Marine Research National Institute for Marine Research and Development "Grigore Antipa" Finnish Environment Institute (Syke) - Suomen ympäristökeskus (Syke) CzechGlobe The Norwegian Institute for Water Research (NIVA)) Royal Belgian Institute of Natural Sciences EMBRC - European Marine Biological Resource Centre EMBRC France Centre of Marine Sciences (CCMAR) CIIMAR Mercator Ocean International EMBL SMHI Istituto Nazionale di Geofisica e Vulcanologia Instituto Hidrográfico - Marinha Portuguesa Plataforma Oceánica de Canarias (PLOCAN) VITO Remote Sensing EMSO ERIC GeoEcoMar INTERACT INKODE soc. coop. 🌍 AQUARIUS project manager Bernadette Ní Chonghaile from the Marine Institute participated in the Horizon Europe Impact Conference in Dublin 🍀 The event highlights the benefits and impacts of participation in Horizon Europe for industry, academia, our economy and wider society. The Horizon Europe Impact Conference was also an opportunity to highlight the AQUARIUS open funding call for transnational access to research infrastructure. AQUARIUS is a great example of this, by providing marine and freshwater researchers with free access to world-class European Infrastructure, irrespective of where they are based. It enhances collaboration in marine and freshwater research, delivering impact for all. ➡️ So apply today! https://lnkd.in/eQnWxaa7 #ResearchFunding #Funding #Grant #Apply #OpenCall #marine #Freshwater #Science #Data #HorizonEU #EUMissionOcean #EUGreenDeal Finnish Meteorological Institute CSIC Hellenic Centre for Marine Research (HCMR) Institute of Marine Research (IMR), Norway Grønlands Naturinstitut Seascape Belgium Helmholtz-Zentrum Hereon Alfred Wegener Institute, Helmholtz Centre for Polar and Marine Research University of Limerick (UL) National Institute for Marine Research and Development "Grigore Antipa" MARIS B.V. 📢 We're introducing a series of posts where we will delve into one of our FAQs to provide clarity and insights to those of you considering applying for free access to our incredible array of 57 research infrastructures! ➡️ Today’s question: Who can apply and what is included in the free access to the infrastructures? 📌 Answer: Research scientists working in marine and freshwater domains from academia, industry, public bodies and civil society organisations can apply, according to the eligibility criteria. In most cases full access to the research infrastructure is available including the logistical, technological and scientific support for users, ad hoc user training and the preparatory and closing activities (mobilisation and demobilisation of a research vessel for example) needed to use the installation. Users’ own travel and subsistence and logistics costs are covered, up to a specified limit – this will be reimbursed to the users by the RI operator or the operator can incur the costs directly (whichever is more agreeable to both parties). In the case of mobile research infrastructures (drones, ROVs, AUVs etc), transport costs to the work area are covered by the project. Each proposal will be logistically evaluated on a case-by-case basis to ensure ‘value for money’ for the project. 🚢 Featured RI: Research Vessel SVEA operated by Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) find all relevant information here: https://lnkd.in/eY3bJzZR Apply to our call before the 20th of January 2025 and get access to the top research infrastructures in Europe to take your marine and freshwater research to the next level! https://lnkd.in/eQnWxaa7 #FAQ #Apply #FundingOpportunity #OpenCall #ResearchFunding #Water #Marine #science #HorizonEU #EUMissionOcean #EUGreenDeal #Data European Research Executive Agency (REA) Marine Institute Finnish Meteorological Institute CSIC Hellenic Centre for Marine Research (HCMR) Institute of Marine Research (IMR), Norway Grønlands Naturinstitut Helmholtz-Zentrum Hereon Alfred Wegener Institute, Helmholtz Centre for Polar and Marine Research National Institute for Marine Research and Development "Grigore Antipa" Finnish Environment Institute (Syke) - Suomen ympäristökeskus (Syke) Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche CzechGlobe The Norwegian Institute for Water Research (NIVA) Royal Belgian Institute of Natural Sciences VLIZ - Flanders Marine Institute EMBRC - European Marine Biological Resource Centre EMBRC France Centre of Marine Sciences (CCMAR) CIIMAR Mercator Ocean International EMBL SMHI Istituto Nazionale di Geofisica e Vulcanologia Instituto Hidrográfico - Marinha Portuguesa NORCE Norwegian Research Centre Plataforma Oceánica de Canarias (PLOCAN) VITO Remote Sensing EMSO ERIC GeoEcoMar r Hafrannsóknastofnun - Marine & Freshwater Research Institute TÜBİTAK
