Renewable Energy Power Generation

Accelerating offshore wind in Australia to create lasting environmental, economic and social benefits

About us

Blue Mackerel is positioned to be one of the first offshore wind farms to supply sustainable energy to Australian homes and industry. In April 2024, the Australian Offshore Infrastructure Registrar awarded the Blue Mackerel project a seven-year feasibility licence for a 163km2 area. Subject to approvals, Blue Mackerel would deliver its planned capacity of 1GW of renewable energy by 2032. That’s enough to provide over half a million Victorian homes with green power. Blue Mackerel is accelerating offshore wind in Australia to create lasting environmental, economic and social benefits. About JERA Nex Blue Mackerel is being developed by JERA Nex, through its wholly owned subsidiary Parkwind. JERA Nex invests in, owns and operates a global portfolio of offshore wind, onshore wind, solar and battery storage projects totalling 3.4GW. As one of the first recipients of an offshore wind feasibility licence, JERA Nex is playing a central role in Australia’s energy transition towards a low emissions future.
