Thank you very much Professor Jacqueline Corbett for making it all the way to Université Catholique d'Afrique Centrale (UCAC Officiel)) in #Cameroon to support this first of its kind event #CACAIS2024Conference. You made it an unforgettable experience for participants and we hope you enjoyed your stay too. We are grateful and look forward to future opportunities to support each other and our communities!
Thank you UCAC! I recently returned from Yaoundé, Cameroon, having spent 10 days as a guest at Université Catholique d'Afrique Centrale (UCAC Officiel)). From June 6-8, I attended the annual conference of the Central African Chapter of the Association for Information Systems (CACAIS) and had the privilege of giving a keynote address on (Re)Claiming a Space for Indigenous Knowledge in Information Systems Research. The following week, I animated a research seminar, which gave me the amazing opportunity to meet and exchange with up-and-coming researchers in the Masters research program and UCAC faculty. I am inspired by the importance of the questions they seek to address and humbled by their generosity, sincerity and commitment to making the world a better place! Félicitations et bonne continuation à tous et à toutes!

What a fantastic experience being part of this. Hopefully attendees grasped our panel’s espoused belief in the value of African culture to IS innovation and to driving more inclusive IS research that is not dominated by the reminants of a colonial past … and its more recent incarnation in the form of digital colonialism. It was also great to hear this same sentiment being picked up by our colleague and friend Denis Dennehy. Thanks to Denis, Ransome Bawack and the organisers for the invite. I’m really looking forward to learning more from the journey forward together. Also thanks to Almero Oosthuizen, Matt Arnold, Kenneth Russell, John Collier Ph.D MSc Marketing PMP, Tony Moroney and Daniel Rees who openly contributed their expertise and knowledge.
CACAIS 2024 Conference | Yaoundé, Cameroon | Day 1 Huge thanks to Paidi O Reilly for moderating this workshop and the valuable insights provided by Almero Oosthuizen, Tony Moroney, Kenneth Russell, & @mattarnold who shared their innovation experiences in North Africa, Central Africa, South Africa, Europe, and the US. Thank you Daniel Rees for your insights on experience reports and the open call on "Innovation Strategy Development & Implementation" with Journal of Decision Systems (https://lnkd.in/eyc43tkJ) #researchpractice

🌍✨ Just wrapped up an incredible experience as the moderator of the 1st edition of CACAIS 2024! ✨🌍 Over three days, we immersed ourselves in the theme “Combining Indigenous Knowledge with Digital Technologies for a Sustainable Future.” As the moderator, I had the opportunity to facilitate discussions during the various workshops, insightful talks, and paper presentations at this conference, and it was an unforgettable experience. We explored innovative ideas, engaged with passionate presentations, and shared insights on topics related to digital technologies, indigenous knowledge, and sustainability. The event also provided excellent networking opportunities, allowing us to exchange ideas and insights with all attendees. The passion and knowledge shared by everyone, from scholars to practitioners and students, were truly inspiring. 🌟 Key takeaway? Africa has the full potential and resources to develop technologies tailored to its unique needs, perfectly suited to its socioeconomic context and sustainable growth. 🌍🚀 Personally, I learned: - Connect with others whenever you can 🤝 - Never be afraid to learn from those around you 📚 - Always showcase your full potential 🌟 A heartfelt thanks to Central African Chapter of the Association for Information Systems (CACAIS), and all the speakers, both onsite and online, including Ransome Bawack Boniface Mbouzao Roseline Bawack (PhD) Emilie Bonhoure Paidi O Reilly Oteng Ntsweng Habiba HAJIYEVA Denis Dennehy Jacqueline Corbett Boniface Adam Sulkowski. This experience was truly enriching and I look forward to many more successful editions! 🙏 #CACAIS2024 #IndigenousKnowledge #DigitalTechnologies #SustainableFuture #Africa #Networking #Innovation #TechForGood

At a Central African Chapter of the Association for Information Systems (CACAIS) conference yesterday I took part in a discussion around innovation in Africa. I went into the session thinking what they could learn from us. I left believing we could learn more from them. #innovation #designthinking #africaninnovation

Cheers to the first of many 🥂 Few days ago, I had the incredible opportunity to take part in a conference, for the first time as a presenter. ✨ How small it feels to stand before so many scholars, and at the same time, how great it feels to have had the courage to step out of the cavern and contemplate the infinite possibilities that research offers. 🍀 My gratitude for this amazing experience, goes to: - Central African Chapter of the Association for Information Systems (CACAIS) and Université Catholique d'Afrique Centrale (UCAC Officiel)) for offering us a privileged space to express and present our work; - Professors Ransome Bawack, @Ivan Djossa, Emilie Bonhoure and Jean Robert Kala Kamdjoug - for organizing this conference and gracing us throughout with insightful comments, questions and meaningful avenues for improvement; - Panel of outstanding scholars who honored us with their presence - Professor Jacqueline Corbett for her pertinent questions, instructive comments and warm smile, Professor Denis Dennehy for conveying so well his lofty vision of AIS, Professor Adam Sulkowski for his interventions and incredible energy, and to all the speakers. - My co-authors: Professor @Ivan Djossa for the unfailing support and guidance he has always given to my work, and Arielle Ndassi. - All the presenters, who bravely defended their work and each contributed, through a constructive remark, a question or a comment, to the growth of the others. We can’t wait for the next editions 🤩 Long live AIS Long live CACAIS
