2024 was a difficult year for our CPR community. In May our beloved founding executive director, Suzanne Delbanco, lost her four-year battle with cancer. Her family, the CPR staff, and many of you were deeply affected by her passing. As a tribute to Suzanne and her legacy we have put together the video below. We invite you, in the spirit of Suzanne, to share something you are grateful for in the comments below. In a follow-up to his bombshell report, The Guardian US's George Joseph exposes the devastating real-life effects of Parkview Health's pricing practices on Indiana employers and communities. Read the full report here: https://lnkd.in/g_hMrAW2 ▶ One employer was forced to drop health insurance entirely after costs skyrocketed by over 250% since 2007. “We are pretty much held hostage by where we can go,” he said. “There’s only one supplier in the whole area.” ▶ Another employer reported a 300% increase in health insurance costs since 2010, condemning Parkview’s “monopoly” on the local market for “absolutely destroying” his company’s bottom line. ▶ For one Hoosier family, rising medical debt owed to Parkview has meant halting contributions to both their retirement and their child’s college fund. ▶ Even state leaders are demanding answers. Democratic Indiana State Senator Shelli Yoder didn’t mince words: “Healthcare isn’t a privilege for the few—it’s a right for everyone.” The message is loud and clear: aggressive consolidation has REAL and DEVASTATING consequences. Indiana’s employers and families are bearing the brunt of these out-of-control costs, and it’s time for action and change. 📢 If you’re an Indiana employer or resident, we invite you to join the conversation by sharing your story below. #Healthcare #PriceTransparency #EmployersForumIN #ParkviewHealth #IndianaHealthcare #Monopoly #Accountability #StandUpForHoosiers Hoosiers for Affordable Healthcare, Eric Bricker, MD, Gloria Sachdev, Catalyst for Payment Reform, NASHP | National Academy for State Health Policy, Indiana Business Health Collaborative
