The shooting of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson has reignited a crucial debate about the US healthcare system, as countless Americans voice their struggles for coverage. Stories like Elizabeth's—who faced severe challenges accessing care after a serious accident—underscore the urgent need for reform. At CPR we believe in the power of state and federal policy to re-balance the market in favor of employers and their plan members. These efforts are more impactful when coupled with individual stories. https://ow.ly/KqJl50UC5ZY #HealthcareReform #AccessToCare #PriceCrisis

The latest stopgap funding bill aims to reshuffle the deck for pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs). Key changes include mandating that PBMs pass through 100% of rebates in Medicare and the group health market, while ensuring transparent pricing in Medicaid. What do you think about these changes? Will they lead to more affordable medications for patients? What more can be done? #PharmacyBenefitManagers #DrugPricing #Medicare #TransparencyInHealthcare https://ow.ly/xsmi50UC5Nn

How has your org collaborated with your #healthplan or local #healthsystem to manage costs, quality, and general employee well-being? Some highlights from the 2025 Deloitte US health care outlook report. Recommendations for #HealthPlans and #HealthSystems to collaborate with #Employers: ✅ Health plans are well-positioned to help employers improve the health of their workforce through wellness programs, preventive care services, and customized coverage options. 🩺 ✅ Health systems must seize the opportunity to collaborate with local employers by establishing onsite prevention clinics, directly contracting for specialized services (like joint surgeries), and offering educational resources. These strategies not only boost workforce health but also help lower overall healthcare costs by reducing reliance on medical interventions. 🌱💰 #PreventiveCare #EmployerHealth #HealthcareInnovation #Collaboration

The tragic killing of Brian Thompson in NYC has ignited critical conversations about healthcare costs. In 2023, national spending rose 7.5% to $4.867 trillion, ballooning to $14,570 per person—17.6% of GDP! The main driver of that increase is unit price, so how do we shift the national dialogue to spotlight #ProviderPrices and #HealthSystem #Consolidation? 💬 #HealthcareReform #HealthcareCosts #HealthInsurance #PriceCrisis https://ow.ly/Hsft50UC59G

🚨 TODAY AT 2 PM ET 🚨 Join us as we discuss "The State of Healthcare" alongside Catalyst for Payment Reform, Florida Alliance for Healthcare Value, Economic Alliance for Michigan and Nevada Business Group on Health. Join us for a webinar that explores policy recommendations and reactions from three different states -Michigan, Nevada, and Florida- to constrain commercial healthcare prices. Drawing on interviews conducted by Catalyst for Payment Reform (CPR) with stakeholders across the healthcare spectrum—including healthcare providers, purchasers, health plans, and industry experts—this webinar will provide insights into the local dynamics and regulatory frameworks shaping efforts to address high and rising healthcare prices. Each state’s healthcare market is unique, and tailored policy solutions are essential.
