Reflections from the CIFAR Alliance Roundtable in DC 🚀 Earlier this month, we hosted an insightful roundtable in collaboration with USAID Climate Finance for Development Accelerator (USAID CFDA), Climate Policy Initiative, and BFA Global, at the stunning Chemonics International offices in Washington, DC. The event brought together brilliant minds shaping the future of #climatefinance to explore critical questions, including: ✅ How can financial products address the climate adaptation needs of low-income, vulnerable populations? ✅ What mechanisms can effectively mobilize private capital for resilience investments traditionally reliant on public or philanthropic funding? ✅ How can alliances like CIFAR drive greater impact by breaking barriers to collaboration and scaling innovative solutions? A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed to these thought-provoking discussions. 🙌 As we look ahead, we're excited to invite you to our final event of the year: an Open Roundtable for CIFAR Alliance members and friends. This session will reflect on COP29 and share key updates from across the Alliance. CIFAR Alliance
Technology, Information and Internet
Advancing innovative and inclusive tech solutions for the climate resilience of vulnerable people and the planet
About us
The Climate Innovation for Adaptation and Resilience (CIFAR) Alliance, formerly known as the DF4CR Task Force, was initially convened in 2021 to determine the opportunity for the digital finance industry to enable access to climate resilience solutions, and to chart a path to scale up an innovation ecosystem for this emerging sector. In 2021, the Alliance’s knowledge products and activities were the first explorations of how digital finance can enable access to climate resilience technologies for low-income, climate-vulnerable populations globally. The mission of the Alliance is to accelerate responsible innovation in digital finance for climate adaptation and resilience.

The financial sector holds untapped potential to drive transformational change for communities, businesses, and ecosystems facing the climate crisis. But how do we unlock it? The Atlantic Council's report lays out key actions to scale private finance for climate adaptation and resilience, including: ✅ Making countries' national adaptation plans (NAPs) investible and transparent ✅ Providing technical assistance to help emerging markets and developing economies (EMDEs) build adaptation capacity and foster public-private collaboration ✅ Aligning frameworks and disclosures to help stakeholders plan and invest with clarity ✅ Boosting transparency and access to public and philanthropic capital to catalyze private investments ✅ Expanding insurance solutions like parametric insurance for ecosystems, assets, and vulnerable communities ✅ Investing in nature-based and locally-led solutions that offer long-term adaptation benefits Read it here: https://lnkd.in/eKjihfuQ #climatefinance #resilience #sustainability #adaptationinnovation
