Last month, we invested $31.8 million to make Arkansas a leader in clean energy production. In partnership with Scenic Hill Solar, we’re bringing a project to life that will transform the University of Arkansas System — bringing cleaner air, lower utility bills, local jobs, and millions of dollars in energy savings to rural communities. Keep an eye on our page for more on this project. ☀️⚡🐗

Last week, Climate United announced a $250 million program to provide affordable leases for battery electric drayage trucks to small fleet owners. But what's a drayage truck? And how do electric trucks benefit small businesses and families? 🚛 Our goal is to make sure no one is left behind in the transition to electric vehicles, especially small businesses who don't have the capital to cover higher upfront costs of battery electric trucks. This project will not only help small fleet owner-operators lead the transition, but it will also reduce the negative health impacts of diesel pollution in port communities while decreasing emissions by an estimated 50,000 tons of CO2 per year.

Climate United is a national coalition helping Americans access affordable clean energy. For over 50 years, our coalition partners at Calvert Impact , The Community Preservation Corporation, and Self-Help Credit Union have invested in communities that need it most, bringing economic opportunity to communities across the country. Core to this work is removing financial barriers so every American benefits from good-paying jobs, lower energy bills, and better public health. We work with a broad network of community lenders, small businesses, developers, nonprofits, and state and local governments across the U.S. to ensure our investments serve American workers and families, no matter their income or zip code. And we’re just getting started: ➡️ We’ve invested $32M in a solar project in Arkansas that will deliver $120M in benefits to hard-working communities in rural America. ➡️ We committed up to $250M to purchasing up to 500 heavy-duty trucks to save money for small businesses in port communities. ➡️ We are committed to delivering capital to communities that have historically been left behind — including but not limited to rural, tribal, and urban areas in all 50 states and territories. By filling gaps in project finance, building markets, and leveraging private investment alongside public funds, we will generate economic opportunity, create good-paying jobs, grow a domestic clean energy industry, and transform the lives of Americans in communities across the U.S. Let’s get to work!

We are in the early, early days of zero emission trucks, and the fun part of the s-curve is still ahead. This Canary Media Inc. article helps explain how our new collaboration with Climate United will really help the market transition accelerate. If you are a drayage fleet working California's ports, Ron A Hunt can help you get in on low-cost truck financing. If you are a BCO shipping through West Coast ports and are interested in moving your goods with the emissions, get in touch -- one of our customer-fleets can help. https://lnkd.in/gPR8UArY
