About us
Cox-Colvin & Associates, Inc. provides a wide range of environmental consulting and engineering-related services. We’ve developed a reputation for providing experienced and capable project teams, high-quality work products, solution-oriented approaches, and the creative use of technologies. In maintaining the solution-oriented approaches, Cox-Colvin & Associates, Inc. is proud to introduce the Vapor Pin™, a unique, patented, re-usable sub-slab soil-gas sampling device. Traditional sub-slab soil-gas sampling methods are time consuming, expensive, and prone to leaks. Cox-Colvin designed the Vapor Pin™ specifically to eliminate many of the problems associated with traditional sub-slab soil gas sampling methods. Services provided by Cox-Colvin & Associates, Inc., typically are conducted under regulatory programs, such as the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA), the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA), the Clean Water Act (CWA), and state voluntary programs. Our core services include the following: Vapor Intrusion Sampling and Evaluation; Soil/Groundwater Investigation and Remediation; Agency Negotiation and Regulatory Support; Facility Engineering; Groundwater Monitoring; Database Management; Litigation Support/Expert Witness Testimony; Data Validation and QA/QC; Remedial Equipment Design, Construction and Operation; and Green and Sustainable Remediation

Let's take a look at the topics of our upcoming free workshops on integral contaminated land management---from site screening to closure ♻️ The workshops will consist of 4 presentations where our international speakers will show how to implement advanced investigation and remediation technologies to overcome typical limitations of traditional methods. Regarding the presentations on site investigation, first our very own Jonás García-Rincón, Ph.D. will illustrate the multiphase and heterogeneous nature of subsurface systems using high-resolution data sets from NAPL-contaminated sites. Jonás will also show how investigating the spatial distribution of preferential migration pathways and low-permeability zones at appropriate scales can inform risk-based decisions and the design of site management strategies in sites impacted with PFAS, hydrocarbons and other chemicals. Laurie Chilcote (Vapor Pin Enterprises, Inc.) will fly from Ohio to show us how vapour intrusion is often a major risk pathway in contaminated sites and how passive and active sampling can significantly improve CSMs to achieve rapid, positive outcomes. Laurie will explain us how to take pressure readings and active grab samples while a passive sampler is installed. Using Vapor Pin, a small sub-slab vapour port that is installed in minutes with commonly available hand tools, gas samples can be collected at multiple events or simply used to gather data during a single event. Attendees will also see how these samplers can be employed for continuous monitoring of differential pressure and vapour concentration. If you are in Brisbane, Melbourne or Sydney next week, don't miss out this unique opportunity to earn CPD points and stay at the forefront of site characterisation and management trends. Stay tuned for more information on the workshop presentations and register using the link below. ✅ Free registration: https://lnkd.in/gNBFhfUT 🎓 Earn CPD points (check conditions with your accreditation scheme) 📌📆 Where and when?
