What a distinct honor to join the Tallahassee Women Lawyers for their panel on maternal and perinatal health disparities. Together with our partners, we showcased the many investments happening in Leon County to support women through the birthing and parenting journey. Holly McPhail from Windwood Communications & Consulting, LLC. facilitated an all-woman panel featuring Chris Szorcsik from Capital Area Healthy Start Coalition, Kelly Otte from The Oasis Center for Women & Girls, Kim Sineath from the Family Resource Centers of Leon County, and our very own Cecka Rose Green, CPM. The message is clear: if we are serious about providing the best possible start in life for our children then all have a role to play in supporting birthing parents, especially black and brown women, especially in the provision of family-friendly workplace policies. #ourkidsfirst #strongfamilies #connectedcommunity

We are a catalyst for positive change to improve the lives and outcomes of children, youth & families in our community.
About us
The Children’s Services Council of Leon County (CSC Leon) is a catalyst for positive change to improve the lives and outcomes of children, youth and families in our community. Approved by a majority of the local electorate during the November 2020 General Election, the CSCLC has been established to provide children with early learning and reading skills, development, treatment, preventative and other children's services. It is an independent special district that will provide funding for these children's services throughout the County by annually levying ad valorem taxes, not exceeding the maximum millage rate of one-half (1/2) mill, and has independent oversight and accountability as required by law.

CSC Leon is once again raising the bar on the types of programs we intend to fund next summer and into the 2025-2026 school year. Driven by our desire to make meaningful impacts in the lives of children and youth, we are seeking to identify and fund qualified vendors to expand the availability of high-quality, year-round out-of-school time (OST) programs for children and youth, K-8, in Leon County. Proposals are due Friday, January 17, 2025. If you would like to learn more, please join us for a 90-minute, in-person informational session on either: 💫 Friday, November 8, at 10:00 a.m. 💫 Wednesday, November 13, at 3:00 p.m. Register here: https://lnkd.in/eCBBv9jM We strongly recommend reading the RFP in its entirety and taking advantage of the technical assistance opportunities available before starting a proposal.
