It may be hard to think about playing outside with the frigid forecasts of late, but warmer days are coming... And while we continue to move forward with local partners on an #OutdoorRecreationEconomy initiative for Lancaster County, we wanted to share a local opportunity to hear from the Commonwealth on its plans to leverage PA's lakes, trails, rivers, and forests as a means of supporting business and workforce growth. On March 12 (3-5pm), the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources will host its 𝗘𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀𝗵𝗼𝗽 at the Columbia Market House (15 S 3rd St, Columbia, PA). Attendees will not only hear from leaders within PA’s outdoor recreation industry as they share ideas on the creation of a new, statewide industry alliance for outdoor recreation businesses, but will also have the opportunity to voice the biggest issues that they are struggling with, provide insights into what approaches would be most beneficial to their business, and share how they would want a support organization to be structured. Whether your business is directly involved in the outdoor recreation economy, plans to promote access to outdoor rec opportunities as an employee perk, or you are simply interested in learning more about what's in store for the state's outdoor recreation industry, this is a great chance to lend your voice to the process. Cold nights call for warm gatherings... Last night, our team converged upon Vine Bar in downtown Lancaster for a relaxing evening filled with conversation about things other than spreadsheets and site visits; a delectable spread of good grub and tasty Italian wines; and, in true EDC fashion, some light competition to help keep things interesting.
