Sint Maarten Pride Foundation wishes those dealing with flooding of their homes and/or business much strength. The Foundation has over the past 20 years advocated and warned against deforestation, excavation of hillsides, building in natural gutters, filling in and destruction of ponds and lagoons. These warnings have sadly by and large not been heeded by the various governments and in particular the many Ministers of the Ministry of VROMI . The flooding experienced today is partially a consequence of the lack of zoning, improper and poorly planned development, the destruction of natural buffers. Sadly, the situation is merely a foreboding of what is to come. Look closely at this fascinating beauty! 🦋 The Caribbean Buckeye butterfly, with its intricate wing patterns and eye-like spots, is a master of disguise and survival. Those "eyes" aren’t just for show—they’re nature's own defense mechanism, helping to frighten off would-be predators like small birds. This butterfly’s clever camouflage is just one example of the incredible adaptations found in the Caribbean! Let's protect these colorful wonders and the ecosystems they call home. 🌍 #EPICCaribbeanTrivia #CaribbeanWildlife #NatureFacts #ButterflyMagic #CaribbeanBuckeye #ButterflyConservation #NatureLovers #WildlifePhotography #InsectFacts #EcoFriendly #NatureBeauty #ButterflyWatch #CaribbeanEcosystem #NatureAdaptations

Did you know? 🌸 The Lignum Vitae, known as the "Tree of Life," is The Bahamas’ national tree and a true symbol of resilience. This ancient tree has roots deep in Caribbean history—its incredibly hard wood was prized by shipbuilders for making pulleys and other essential parts, and it was even used in traditional medicine for its healing properties. 🌿 Sadly, the Lignum Vitae is now endangered, reminding us of the need to protect these natural treasures before they're lost forever. Let’s celebrate and conserve our Caribbean heritage! 🌱 #EPICCaribbeanTrivia #SaveOurSpecies #BahamasNature #TreeOfLife #LignumVitae #BahamasHeritage #CaribbeanConservation #NationalTree #EcoAwareness #NaturePreservation #SustainableFuture #EndangeredSpecies #CaribbeanFlora #ProtectNature
