🎙️ ... and the winners are... 🏆 EO AFRICA R&D Facility, in collaboration with the African Union Commission through the GMES Africa program is pleased to announce that: As a result of the Call for proposals: "African-led Training Material Design", five competitive #African universities have been selected to develop university curricula under the #EOAFRICA umbrella. The training materials will focus on #Water and #FoodSecurity, will be integrated into the regular #curricula of the respective universities and will also be made partially available through the EO AFRICA R&D Facility #Moodle portal The selected universities are: 🏅 Addis Ababa University - Institute of Water Resources - #Ethiopia - Team leader: Dr Haileysus Belay Lakew 🏅 University of Douala, - #Cameroon - Team leader: Kemche G. A. 📑 Last month in Maseru, #Lesotho: A face-to-face course on "Cloud-based Earth Observation (#EO) image analysis for monitoring surface #water dynamics" brought together 35 participants from Zimbabwe, Kenya, Zambia, Botswana, Mozambique, Lesotho, South Africa, and Malawi, all eager to expand their knowledge and enhance their skills in EO 🛰️ . The course included a series of lectures and hands-on practical sessions, expertly delivered by Ewelina Dobrowolska and Diego Carcedo. In the words of one participant, "a totally marvelous course; this training was truly comprehensive on its own." The course also fostered interaction among participants, allowing them to exchange experiences and explore potential collaborations 🤝🏽 , enriching in that way the #EOAFRICA Community. An so, the EO AFRICA R&D Facility continues fulfilling its mission of building EO capacity across #Africa and promoting African-European R&D partnerships.
