The UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) recently hosted the second Global Aviation and Aerospace Skills Taskforce meeting in Abu Dhabi aimed at ensuring a resilient and inclusive aviation workforce that promotes gender equality and equal opportunities. The meeting covered workforce forecasting, education and training, and capacity development. ICAO also announced its partnership with the GAAST in support of the Next Generation of Aviation Professionals (NGAP) Programme, focused on addressing critical challenges in attracting, retaining, and empowering a sustainable global aviation workforce. Looking ahead to ICAO's 42nd Assembly in 2025, this collaboration will formalize joint actions between NGAP and GAAST to support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically Gender Equality, Decent Work, and Quality Education. This partnership will enhance the aviation sector's appeal as a career path for diverse talent, ensuring its long-term sustainability and resilience.
