🌍 Celebrating 20 Years of Global Impact! 🌍 On February 27, 2025, we mark the 20th anniversary of the entry into force of the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (WHO FCTC). This milestone represents two decades of global cooperation in the fight against tobacco use, a leading cause of preventable death worldwide. 🚭 The WHO FCTC, the world’s first international public health treaty, has been adopted by 182 countries and continues to shape policies that protect public health, prevent tobacco-related harm, and promote sustainable development. As we celebrate this achievement, we reflect on the progress made and the continued need for global commitment to reducing tobacco consumption and its impact on health and well-being. 👏 Let's continue the momentum and work together to ensure a healthier, tobacco-free future for all. 📺 Be sure to join the live stream celebration tomorrow! https://lnkd.in/dPHEVueS WHO FCTC Knowledge Hub on Surveillance #TobaccoControl #PublicHealth #WHO #GlobalHealth #FCTC #TobaccoFreeFuture #HealthImpact

Changes to U.S. foreign assistance are having a far-reaching impact—both globally and domestically. While the focus is often on the lives of those who benefit from U.S. aid abroad, it's important to recognize how these disruptions also affect Americans. From agricultural communities to universities and nonprofits across the U.S., many are feeling the effects of a pause in funding from USAID. For example, Alabama’s International Fertilizer Development Center could lose up to 40% of its funding, jeopardizing global food security. Similarly, universities like Arizona State and the University of California are facing uncertainty over ongoing global development projects. As U.S. foreign assistance plays a critical role in supporting global health, economic development, and humanitarian efforts, the ripple effects of these changes are felt across multiple sectors in the US. This underscores the interconnectedness of our global economy and the importance of stable foreign aid. 🛑 How can we ensure that U.S. foreign assistance continues to support both domestic and global communities? Advocacy for consistent and well-funded foreign aid is essential for maintaining these critical programs. 📢 To find out how each state is impacted, read the blog post here: https://lnkd.in/ef6kbANf The ONE Campaign #USAID #ForeignAssistance #GlobalDevelopment #EconomicImpact #PublicPolicy #GlobalHealth #AidImpact
