This fall, we’re thrilled to celebrate and recognize the remarkable accomplishments of our recent OYC Young Leaders who have graduated or will be graduating soon from college. Their achievement is not only a reflection of their academic success but also of the dedication, resilience, and perseverance it took to navigate and overcome the unique challenges they faced. These graduates have made a lasting impact as OYC Young Leaders—using their voices to shape policies, influence systems, and advocate for changes that directly benefit foster youth in Los Angeles. As they embark on their next journeys, we are confident that their leadership and passion will continue to inspire and drive meaningful change in their communities and beyond. Los Angeles is not ready for the AMAZING leaders it's about to see! Congratulations graduates! 🎉 If you would like to connect with all these amazing graduates on LinkedIn, click here to learn more: https://lnkd.in/gx2ja7CZ] #FosterYouthSuccess #CollegeGraduate #FosterCareJourney #BreakingBarriers #ProudGraduate #DreamBig #GraduationDay #FosterYouthAdvocate #InspirationForAll #EmpoweredYouth #FutureLeader #losangelesyouth

Amazing job, Joel! We're so lucky to have you as one of our OYC Young Leaders! 🎉
In honor of BIPOC Mental Health Awareness Month, I want to highlight the journey of Joel Swazo, a Los Angeles City College student who found his professional calling - to be a mental health care provider - through Brother Be Well’s “Into the Classroom” program. His story underscores the importance of culturally informed care and diverse representation in mental health. I’m proud to be a co-founder of Blue Shield of California BlueSky youth mental health initiative, which supports Brother Be Well and promotes health equity. Read more about Joel and the transformative work of Brother Be Well.
