Monticello Area Community Action Agency (MACAA) has been serving families in the Charlottesville, Virginia area since 1965. Our service area includes the City of Charlottesville, and the counties of Albemarle, Fluvanna, Louisa and Nelson. As one of more than one thousand Community Action Agencies nationwide, our mission is to improve the lives of low-income individuals by helping them become self-reliant. We partner with individuals and families living below 125% of the Federal poverty to promote economic empowerment, equitable access to healthcare and nutritional supports, and the education and development of the whole family.
