  • Thank you, Aleena Zeejah (pictured far right with the Mount Sinai South Nassau behavioral health team) from Oceanside High School for hand delivering your “Cards for Mental Health” to our patients! Alenna started with the goal of bringing comfort, encouragement, and a sense of connection to individuals receiving care in behavioral health hospitals and emergency rooms across #LongIsland. Through this project, her team creates and distributes handmade cards to children and adults who may be struggling with behavioral health challenges. Thank you for spreading positivity and emotional support to those in behavioral health facilities through thoughtful, personalized cards!” #mentalhealth #encouragement #comfort #connection

  • Mount Sinai South Nassau’s #CoatsonSoldiers donation drive is a branch of the #SuitsonSoldiers collective, which also includes #ShoesonSoldiers. The collective complements the hospital’s year-round treasure chest collection of personal care products and non-perishable foods in support of the Nassau County Veterans Service Agency. This year’s annual drive totaled approximately 200 coats and other miscellaneous articles of clothing totaling over 500 donations (coats, suits, shirts, blouses, skirts, and children’s clothing, shoes, and coats). Since the inaugural drive held in December 2022, Coats on Soldiers has collected and donated more than 1,000 coats to regional agencies that provide aid and support services to veterans of the US Armed Forces. Thank you to the #CareerCouture boutique for collecting the #coats for #veterans and all who contributed! #LongIsland #ByTheSea
