The lifespan of solar cells has been significantly extended, thanks to innovative research from a team at Northwestern University. A newly developed protective coating boosts solar cell stability in real world conditions. The study, co-led by Bin Chen, Ted Sargent, and Mercouri Kanatzidis, was recently published in Science Magazine.
