Happy Rocky Day! Today we kicked off the first-ever RockyFest with the unveiling of a special gift from Sylvester Stallone, a heartfelt expression of appreciation for all the fans who have supported Rocky through the years. For the next 30 days, Mr. Stallone’s personal cast of the Rocky Statue by Thomas Schomberg- a twin to the one that sits at the base of these famous steps will grace the top of the iconic Art Museum Steps. Thank you to our incredible partners at Philadelphia Parks & Recreation, Philadelphia Museum of Art, Visit Philadelphia, Philadelphia Convention & Visitors Bureau and the City of Philadelphia for making this moment possible. This year, we're extra excited for one of our favorite Thanksgiving traditions- watching The National Dog Show on NBCUniversal 🐶 We were lucky enough for RockyFest to partner with the National Dog Show and the Kennel Club of Philadelphia in celebration of the special connection between Rocky and his beloved Bullmastiff Butkus! We had a blast meeting and greeting so many pups at the Dog Show in Oaks, PA, and can't wait to watch the show tomorrow! Special shoutouts to Vizion Group, Steve Griffith, Signature 57, Elissa Hill, Tamara Yvette Day, Stephanie Fanelli-Bambach, and everyone who helped bring this partnership to life! We'll be cheering extra loud tomorrow for our friends Rufus and Wasabi! 🥊

We're thrilled to announce that TKTS is officially here in Philadelphia! Through an exciting partnership with Visit Philadelphia, and the Theatre Development Fund (TDF), we’re bringing the world-famous ticket booth service to our city. Starting today the new TKTS booth at the Independence Visitor Center (599 Market Street) will offer 30-50% off tickets for live performances happening within 72 hours. With 20 participating performing arts companies from across Greater Philadelphia—including Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery Counties. This marks the first TKTS location outside New York City in the U.S., joining iconic locations like Times Square, Lincoln Center, Tokyo, and London. Stop by to celebrate the incredible performing arts community of Philadelphia!

Today, we hosted Philadelphia City Council’s Committee on Legislative Affairs hearing focused on preparations for 2026 events. The Council hearing featured testimony from a range of organizations, including the Philadelphia Visitor Center, sharing insights and plans for the upcoming celebrations.

We had an incredible night showcasing our new Philly Experiences Candle Collection in partnership with Color and Flame! Each candle in our new collection had its moment in the spotlight, with scents inspired by iconic Philly spots like the Gayborhood, Boathouse Row, and the Wanamaker Holiday Light Show. Thank you to everyone who joined us in celebrating the essence of Philadelphia—your enthusiasm truly made the event unforgettable! Missed the Catwalk? Reflecting on a meaningful Día de los Muertos celebration at the Independence Visitor Center! We were honored to partner with the Consulate of Mexico in Philadelphia to host a traditional ofrenda (Day of the Dead altar) and showcase stunning artwork by Mexican artists. The ofrenda offered a beautiful space for visitors to learn about this rich tradition of honoring and remembering loved ones, while the vibrant artwork brought the spirit of Mexico to life in our center. Thank you to the Consulate of Mexico, Raul Garcia Zentlapal, Elisa Gaxiola, Carlos O. and to all who joined us in celebrating this special holiday!

The Philadelphia Visitor Center Corporation has announced RockyFest 2024 celebrating the iconic Rocky film franchise with an action-packed week of festivities. Taking place Dec. 3-8, the event will include Rocky-themed bus tours, movie marathons, date nights and other special events. And there may be a surprise or two in store! Thank you to everyone who joined us this past weekend for our Halloween in the Historic District and Oktoberfest Craft Market! Visitors and locals of all ages enjoyed festive trick-or-treating around the historic district, pumpkin painting, and Edgar Allan Poe stories.
