About us

Chartered on November 10, 1979, the West Virginia Chapter of PRSA is in its 40th year of service to public relations professionals in West Virginia, continuing with the energy and enthusiasm that have built and sustained this chapter. PRSA-WV Chapter is governed by a volunteer board of directors and managed by an executive director. The board is elected by the chapter membership and is responsible for setting the chapter’s direction each year.

  • 🎊 Announcing 2024 WV Public Relations Hall of Fame Inductees! 🏅 The PRSA West Virginia Chapter is thrilled to announce the induction of two outstanding professionals and leaders of Marshall University into the West Virginia Public Relations Hall of Fame: Ginny Painter and Dr. Hal Shaver awarded posthumously. On Tuesday, November 12, join us as we honor their incredible contributions to the PR field at the Night of Honors, hosted by the University of Charleston's PRSSA chapter. This event celebrates those who have left a lasting impact on the industry and mentored the next generation of PR leaders in West Virginia. The event will also showcase the "best of the best" in our industry and in West Virginia, recognizing winners of PRSA WV's Crystal Awards and Best of West Virginia Awards.   • The West Virginia Public Relations Hall of Fame is now accepting nominations for 2024 inductees! Nomination Form 👉 https://lnkd.in/gapgZg8m Induction into the West Virginia Public Relations Hall of Fame is the highest recognition the West Virginia Chapter of PRSA can bestow, honoring distinguished public relations professionals for their career achievements, significant contributions to public relations, mentoring and exemplary community service. Criteria include: ⭐ Minimum 25 years of experience in a public relations field, with a significant portion of their employment being in West Virginia. ⭐ Demonstrated a commitment to PRSA, the profession and the communities they serve through service and mentoring. ⭐ Unquestionable professional and ethical standards. ⭐ Possess a portfolio of work that demonstrates leadership, innovation and superior client/customer success. The deadline to submit nominations is Friday, September 20. The 2024 Hall of Fame Induction will take place on Tuesday, November 11th at the PRSA Night of Honors at the University of Charleston. It is co-hosted by the University of Charleston PRSSA chapter.

    PRSA QuickStart Weekend 2024 Honoring the Past; Igniting Our Future--Celebrating 70 Years of PRSA East Central District is the theme of the premier PRSA East Central District professional development event of the year on September 14. QuickStart will be held at Fahlgren Mortine in Easton Town Center in Columbus, Ohio.
